yes, tomatillos have a husk which grows around a small tomato-looking fruit. I'm not sure that all is well with your tomatillos though, maybe the fruit is missing due to the small companion. Someone else will likely wander by and answer better than me. I grew them once about 3 years ago. They plants were very plentiful, I had 4, but I don't remember the details of how the fruit developed. Good luck!

The fruit grows in the papery husks. They can take a long time to
become large enough to fill the husk. In the meantime, it is easy to
think nothing is growing inside of them.

As I recall, there are mixed opinions on whether you need more than one plant.

Thank you both, yea these are a new one to me and after one plant was 3 ft high or so found out I probley needed a companion plant , I was driving all over trying to find one, that one is maby 2 1/2 ft and my bigger one is over 5' now, both have these husks on them so I'm hoping I get fruit. If I do I will have enough to supply myself and all my Hispanic friends.

Yea :), gave a bunch of my ghost peppers from last year and a friend made a salsa verde that was kick a$$ , we also made tomales.
