What a colorful healthy display! I still don't understand all the specific requirements to create my own. My n/e room is not heated and seems to cold in winter for many plants I have tried, and gets too hot in summer, how do all of you regelate temps so well?

Becky, you have a warm growing hard cane Dendrobium. Where they grow in nature they would never "encounter a cold front". Some orchids readily make keikis, others only do so if stressed. No idea about the weather in your part of the world, but you might get better help if you give the locals some idea of your growing conditions, seeing you are heading into winter which might mean that you have to move your orchid, add lighting and so on.

Well done Harvey. I do the same. Some I tie to trees with a piece of the cane. I always cut the cane its growing on. I usually cut a smaller piece but it doesn't really matter. Jane
