Cute as usual. Happy 4th AAA. I'll be staying home today. Saturday spent 5 hours walking around an amusement park with 4 little ones and Im finished for the weekend!

We are getting even more rain than we got yesterday, so I'm staying home. There was enough of a break last night for some to get in their fireworks. I don't think that will be the case tonight. Comfortable temps, so I am happy hanging out on my front porch today.

The ants are only there to help. You'd eat more if they weren't around.

We thought, we would stay home, but just got asked to join some friends on their boat, to watch the swim across the bay.

With Dale recovering from pneumonia, we are taking it easy.

Saturday ended up being our busy, party day. A friend from college stopped by with her family, for lunch, on their way from Ohio to Virginia Beach. I was looking forward to their visit and looking to show off a little with the lunch but since I wasn't sure of any likes/dislikes I decided on a taco/burrito bar. I made grilled spiced chicken, slow simmered pork carnitas, mexican rice, refried beans, oven-roasted plantains, with a bunch of optional toppings. It went well and most everything was delicious, but I ended making way, way too much, and had more leftover than was eaten.

Then later than evening a friend who runs a foundation to obtain high-quality violins, violas, and cellos and match them with young performers skilled enough that the instrument can make a difference.invited us to a performance by one of their recipients, followed by a dinner.

We left the dinner around 9:15 and raced across town to where a co-worker was putting on his annual fireworks show, and managed to arrive just as the first large shell went up.

We had BIG plans, but cancelled. Dh over fed the cat & he couldn't stop hoarking(he has a sensitive stomach)....3 days ago.....sigh....he was fine... is fine....but were home. We found a neighbor, they just moved in, who's been a vet tech for 15 years. Next time we can just go.... and we have a new friend...so spent some time...OK...a LOT of time with our new friends. :0)

We're staying home too. Cloudy, rainy and threatening weather. We got 4" of rain between yesterday and last night.

well, we are back. That a zoo, but next year I plan to swim across the bay too.

Too gloomy and rain-threatening to want to *party* outside here. Lot's of traffic on the lake yesterday - none today. Put off the family gathering we usually have and now feel good about doing that. A low-key holiday here and that's okay.
