L-B DuraForce owners: Read this if you haven't re-jetted yet
Comments (39)Scott, glad it helped. I know I didn't contribute to this thread but these guys really know how to get the duraforce engine running better. In my opinion this should have never had to be done. People should not have to re-jet a lawnmower engine. Toro should have went with a higher quality carb. I realize they had to meet EPA emmisions tests but I'll bet some other carb could have made the grade. Those plastic carbs on that engineering marvel just threw the whole engine off for me. I've heard people say that the D-400's were a tinkerers engine but I'd say the duraforce is in there too. Good luck with it, Neal...See MoreEcheveria help please
Comments (5)Thank you all. The one on the left is slowly getting a lot better. When I got it all but 2 leaves were curling over the pot and the plant had virtually no roots. It lost a lot of its colour over winter too but its slowly coming back. I'll label it when I get home as a 'romeo'. Then hopefully the light will arrive this week and that will improve things, if not I'm moving in a month to a place with a south facing garden and lots of southern facing windows, so they only need to hang on until then....See MoreHelp identifying some succulents!
Comments (10)Pictured plant is about same height as yours - sorry I don't have photo showing it sideways. Here it is about year (?) earlier:I take all succulents out as soon as nightime temps stay consistently about 50*F. You won't need light if you keep them outdoors until late fall, when they have to come back indoors again. You could use CFL bulbs (I believe they are slowly fazing them out?), LED bulbs or fluorescent tubes - if those, either T8 or T5 would work. T5HO would be likely best, but they are more $ - so depends on how much you can/want to invest. And if you get more plants, more lights will be needed. MG cactus and succulent soil may be too peaty - can you get a bag of perlite and mix it about 50/50? Well draining soils are mix of particulates that are larger, peat is too fine. Many of use products like grit, turface, perlite, pumice, scoria - few of these together make good mix....See MoreHelp me solve my Ikea echeveria mystery! (ID help pls)
Comments (11)Just wanted to post an update photo of my little plant. The three new rosettes have gotten a bit bigger and are actually starting to look more like compact rosettes. They also each seem to be putting out some air roots. The mother plant's leaves are looking a little worse for wear :) I also noticed that the mother plant seems to be putting out two new leaves in between a few of the old ones. I know it will still be a while before I can figure out the ID (and I may never know!), but it is looking a bit like green goddess as Lisa suggested above. When I was searching green goddess the other night, an image of another plant came up whose little rosettes look similar to mine--though this may be just because they are so young. It was echeveria Van Breen (https://thesucculentproject.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/img_6541.jpg)...See MoreLH CO/FL
