Amazon add-on items and prime pantry.
Comments (20)I've had Amazon Prime for years and probably use it enough to make the membership fee worth it. While I don't necessarily need things right away, I must admit that it does become very convenient when I do need something rather quickly. especially something that might be more time consuming to find locally. I also stream movies/shows occasionally. Most recently, I was able to buy used textbooks for my high schoolers much more inexpensively and being a Prime member, could get them in a timely manner rather than wait for the book rate shipping which can take three weeks. Most of the things that I buy are not add on or Pantry items but if I did want something like that, I'm sure I could easily wait until I was ordering something else. MD has required us to pay sales tax for at least a year now, but it is not on everything I purchase. I'm not sure exactly how it works, but I'm guessing it depends on where the item is being shipped from. For example, one of the textbooks I ordered I had to pay tax, but another I didn't. But it was still WAY cheaper for me to buy through Amazon so paying the tax was not a big deal. I think having a prime membership makes sense for someone like me, with four kids, but it doesn't make sense for people like my parents. My mother doesn't need to buy much online, has time to shop locally, and isn't buying random stuff like I am for my kids. She does, however, love to stream shows. She and my father have their own Netflix account, but it didn't really make sense cost wise for them to also get Amazon Prime. I logged her into my account from her iPad so she can watch movies/shows whenever she wants. And if she ever needs anything from Amazon that she can't get with free shipping, she just asks me to buy it for her. Her credit card number is stored in my account and have it shipped to her....See MoreI just don't understand..................... ebay question
Comments (23)I sold my last thing ever before Christmas on EBay. Buyers can now return purchases for simply saying "not as listed". It was a Coach bag that was listed as used and I showed five pictures of the worn areas on the red leather. I had to pay the return shipping that was almost double the amount that I paid to ship to the buyer. Still had to pay the 10% on the total sale (including) shipping for the final sale amount to Ebay. I'll never sell on Ebay again. Sorry to rant but I'm still mad about this!!!...See MoreI don't understand primocane blackberries. Prime ark 45 /3rd year.
Comments (4)Hi Paul, "It will make new growth off the laterals that will fruit." trim laterals that have already fruited and they will produce? That goes against the requirement of removing laterals once they have fruited... I thought the primocane (first year cane) fruited in the fall and was trimmed, then overwintered it became the florocane (2nd year cane) which fruited off the laterals grown after last fall harvest... After the laterals harvest in spring, the entire plant is removed and thats where these primocane came from this year.. I removed all florocane after the spring harvest this year. A decent one! Problem is, these current primocane have produced laterals that have set fruit. Maybe these primocane laterals are just branches?? and after this harvest they are removed, and a new group of laterals will grow for next spring? I sure miss knowing where a rogue blackberry patch was. A true delight....See MoreAmazon Prime "A Very English Scandal"
Comments (32)I watched a movie with Rebel Wilson the other night called "Isn't It Romantic." It was a spoof on romantic comedies, albeit not a very good one. Part of the appeal of the movie would have been the leading lady's sarcastic jokes about work, dating and her life. But honestly, I could not understand her most of the time, it's like she didn't want to extend the effort to enunciate. I've watched other Australian movies and programs before and had no problems. My biggest problem with hearing is the sound seems to be uneven. To have it loud enough to hear some characters, others are too loud, and then the reverse. Regular tv with commercials is the worst. Unless you are constantly working the mute button, it's not fun. Fast paced comedies with a lot of word play are the worst. I love "Modern Family" but I can never seem to find the sweet spot in the volume for that one. What is "A Very English Scandal" about? I like Hugh Grant as an actor, although maybe not a guy I'd love to have a pint with down the pub. He is quite "mannered" in his delivery, but many good actors have that feature, not necessarily bad but he sure was typecast for many years . . . I never liked most of the stammering twits he played in those romantic movies . . . He's the perfect character in that movie "Small Time Crooks" with Woody Allen and Tracey Ullman. Now there's a Brit I never have trouble understanding no matter what dialect she is using . . ....See Moredeegw
