two noids looking for a name mark 2
Comments (3)Thanks for the Mark Two, Nev. Yes, I had trouble posting that response on the first attempt, and then again on the second. My computer froze as GW was playing up, so I didn't think my first response had worked. Maybe it was me that stuffed it up. Sorry about repeating myself. Comments (10)Nice hibiscus! I've gotten addicted to the giant tropical ones in the last year. Like I need more plants. My mom went to my sisters for the holiday, she has been pretty sick the past few years and my sister & her kids didn't come down this summer. My brother, sister-in-law, nephews, wifes, assorted kids, Jim & I are all going to the Renaissance festival. Noone has a kitchen to cook-brother is still getting his house done, it's elevated but the interior isn't done yet, we haven't finished the kitchen, Ike really did a number on the island, so we decided to go camp out, dress up and have fun. We'll eat turkey legs at the festival on Friday. We'll probably make a big pot of chili or grill steaks for Thanksgiving night. Have a blast, it's going to be so fun trying to remember everyones names, keep the animals away from the babies, please Aunt Edna(we all have ONE relative that is never happy with anything), not eat too much, you're going to have so much fun!! Comments (1)Our decorator uses thick felt pads she gets from somewhere in California. Much better than the foam pads and doesn't leave a residue on the wood floors. Also gives a nice cushion....See MoreIf we love maple should we go with engineered in kitchen?
Comments (9)I had a solid not engineered maple floor in my kitchen from 1987 to 2011 and again when we remodeled in 2011. Again chose solid maple in kitchen. We. Got dings and scrapes when we pushed chairs across the floor and under the table. Then, the felt pads wore loose or got dirty and did not protect. In the remodel the floors are perfect. The felt pads now stay on and stay clean. We are empty nesters since 2009 as dd now in college. Separation due to heat or wet fluctuations never a big deal. Very slightly and not noticeable much. If you stare, on certain days, it is slight. I would do maple again but we bought a house in Tucson and peeps say no to. Hw floors here. So am doing laminate in bedrooms and ceramic elsewhere. I love maple the most. It is kinder to backs and aging legs but I gotta listen. In my heart, I doubt their accuracy and think they are just unfamiliar with hw in kitchens. My old floors did get beat up but loved them anyway. My new floors are perfect, flawless....See Moremaryjozone5
