Never let them see you sweat!
Comments (17)Both of my teenage sons have had this problem. One discovered, finally, after several years, that it was from an ADD medication he was on. The doctor switched it, and he has been much better. So if she is on any sort of medications, check the side effects. My other DS is not on medications and tried everything -- the prescription antiperspirant not only didn't work well for him, but it caused irritation that never got better and created a bit of havoc because he has a hyperpigmentation problem so he ended up with huge dark marks under his arms. They did go away eventually. Then he tried botox (approved by our insurance, administered by a dermatologist). I think it's 20-25 shots under each arm? Not too pleasant. And it worked for maybe 4 months (they estimated 6 months) and he doesn't want to go through it again. So now he just wears white shirts almost exclusively because the stains show less on white fabric. He also likes sweater weather! Such a bummer but I am hoping he outgrows it -- he is still a teenager and going through hormonal upheavals! I had a pretty good sweating problem in high school too, but outgrew it, fortunately. I also became a big fan of the White Shirt. There are several different brands of "clinical strength" deoderants now in drugstores -- maybe one of them would work?...See Morefavorite workout clothes
Comments (11)I wear SkirtSports and Athleta running skorts for running and working out. For me the length is perfect - long enough to wear out to the grocery store w/o feeling skimpy. The built in compression shorts on the SkirtSports brand have pockets on either thigh where I store my car key and my iPod or anything else I need to carry. I also have a few things from lululemon that I love. I mostly wear skorts for working out now b/c I don't feel funny wearing them out in public. I don't like wearing tights/compression gear if I'm running errands. SkirtSports also has a longer skirt that I wouldn't wear for exercising as it's a tad too long, but it's great for running errands. In cooler months, I wear the LottaBreeze Capri style (capri w/skirt over top). For winter, I wear insulated running tights that have a built in skirt from Athleta or I wear Under Armour Cold Gear tights with a separate skirt from Athleta over top to cover my arse. Once I discovered skirts/skorts, I rarely ever wear workout shorts anymore (the compression shorts underneath prevent chafing). Comments (12)I'll try to help here lol..there's a lot of stuff in sweat phosphates, salt, acids, body oils, ammonia, enzymes, and bacteria to name a few, its the mixture of these things that cause yellowish to orange discoloration on clothing..I think some people have more of some of these in there body sweat than others which accounts for why some people have no staining on their clothes and others have yellow, orange or brown stains. Nothing you can do if your amoung the many that have the orange stains, but its dang near impossable to remove after its set..best advice is to soak your clothes in something with oxygen bleach and enzymes when you take them off and leave them soak all day, which should work well on whites however darks you don't want soaking for extended times in oxygen bleach. .so for those I'd use a good TOL powder detergent loaded in enzymes like tide for soaking. This should work as long as you put the garment to soak right away. My teenage daughter has a serious medical condition and among everything else she sweats a lot and ...you got it hers is orange, but this system has saved many of her clothes. Anyway hope this helps....See MoreMysterious Stains on White Clothing LG front load
Comments (274)These spots have been driving me absolutely mad for 5 years now! This thread makes me feel seen. lol We have an LG front loader. It is 10 years old. I have tried everything! There are usually 1-3 pieces that are affected in every other cycle. happens to both white and light colored pieces of differing material. Ive tried everything -different cycle temps, powder vs liquid, very small detergent amounts, running the ”tub clean” cycle with bleach, vinegar, and oxyclean cleaning packets. Everything! I use Tide free and clear, I only wash extremely small loads with level 1 or 2 (cap measurment), wipe the seals down, always keep the door wide open (not just cracked) after every cycle, i promptly take the items out after the cycle ends, etc . It’s so maddening! I get anxiety everytime i run a load. i cant tell you how many brand new kids clothes have been ruined! we dont wear any lotion, sunblock, hair gel, etc. Any advice??? Anyone able to successully get LG to do anything? thank you!...See Moresandy1616
