Please show me your commercial faucet?
Comments (44)Here's a couple pictures of the faucet. You can see the hot/cold levers on the left and right side of the faucet. The lever in the center is how you choose between the faucet and the sprayer. When it is vertical, it sends water to the faucet and to use the sprayer you turn it 90 degrees to the left. If you look at the picture of the sprayer, there is a metal ring that you can slide over the handle to keep it depressed and be "hands free." We never use it. Also, the spray comes out in a fan shape which works great for spraying stuff off. It really doesn't flow that much water when you use the sprayer and I like that. However, the faucet puts out a really good flow - which is nice when filling pots. The sink is a Whitehaus WH3018 and is 30" wide by 18" to the back by 10" deep. We really like having one large sink instead of the traditional two. We also purchased the metal grate that goes in the bottom and had to purchase the drain fittings specific to this sink as well (we don't have a garbage disposal but it was an option). We bought it from bluebath.com but it is available many other places. I can't remember where we bought the sprayer from - I think I just kept Googling the model number and went with the best price I could find. As far as cleaning the faucet goes, we just use Clorox wipes. It has some nooks and crannies that take a little work to clean out but it's not too bad at all. The "spring" part at the base of the hose slides up and down so cleaning it is easy (though it really doesn't get that dirty). Again, I highly recommend both the sink and the faucet. Have had no issues with either. I looked around at some of the quasi-commercial faucets from some of the big-name manufacturers and they were way too expensive. I don't know what these faucets cost today but I don't think we spent more than about $300 or so. But it should last us FOREVER....See MoreMaytag Commercial 575 Tell me about the delicate cycle.
Comments (7)Thanks for the replies. Actually, my husband has been diligently trying to diagnose the problem with my old Whirlpool. He had it narrowed down to the timer or the motor. After doing some testing today with a multimeter, he’s decided it’s the motor (which would explain the odor when it died). He has ordered a replacement—used from a dealer on eBay. Part will be here on Friday hopefully. He’s already repaired it once in the past month (different issue). I’m lucky he’s very mechanically inclined. Buying a new machine is a last resort. I’m just trying to prepare just in case this repair doesn’t work. I absolutely dread the thought of buying a new washer as I feel that all appliances are disposables now. Thanks again. :)...See MoreBasement wall waterproofing - can someone explain this to me?
Comments (5)Thank you, Jim - yes, the funny thing is, there already is a French drain there and I’ve never seen even a drop of moisture in it. The moisture seems to stay above it in the cinderblocks and doesn’t seem to make its way down to the bottom cinderblock in any obvious way. I know the laws of gravity and hydrostatic pressure probably say otherwise, but I was trying to understand how a French drain helps when there doesn’t seem to ever be enough to actually “drain” away. Yes, I received estimates from well known companies for rather elaborate systems that would run along the entire basement out to my back yard - just wondering what would actually “run” out there? Water vapor?...See MoreCan someone explain this to me?
Comments (16)Elmer, Normally I would never set anything (I haven't yet paid for) in my reusable bag. I wasn't at all worried about placing the bras on the glass jewelry counter because they were undergarments, but because there were customers perusing the items under the glass top, so I didn't want to obscure their view. However no good deed goes unpunished as they say, since I then completely forgot about putting them in my bag! So I agree with your advice to take the time for a thoughtful decision, to avoid such a happening. When one does something they'd never normally do, it can lead to forgetting what they did, precisely because it was not something they would normally do! maddielee, you're right, there are those black globe ceiling cameras all over, in this store, and they could easily have seen me drop the bras into my bag, as I didn't do it inconspicuously. The sales lady handed me the little box to view the earrings, when I still had the 3 bras in my hand. So I said "Oh hang on, I'll just put them in here while I look at these" and slid my bag off my shoulder and dropped them into it right in front of her. Then I hung it from my arm, instead of putting it back over my shoulder. She didn't say 'Oh it's ok, I'll put them behind the counter while you look' so it didn't seem like she was at all suspicious that I'd try to sneak out without paying for them. Maybe because I had the bras in my hand the whole time I looked at the jewelry and even until she gave me the earrings to view, she just assumed if I was going to steal them, I would have sneaked them into my bag earlier, rather than put them in it right in front of her. Only question I still have, is If the security cameras saw me put the bras in my bag, why didn't they have their security person stop me from leaving? And since the cashier at the checkout had to demagnetize them when she scanned them, I still have no idea why their exit sensors never went off when I walked right through them the first time. Unless the door employee was telling the truth after all, lol!...See Moresocks
