Nicole, I have a picture of an Irish magpie. Meaning, I saw it in Ireland. :)

We had some really rough weather the other day. I came home to branches from the trees all over the yard, flower pots blown over, and a baby bird out of its nest. I actually walked past it the first time I was cleaning up flower pots. Once I saw it, I went inside and left it alone. I heard it chirping and I sat back to see what would happen.

Typical teenager. It only wanted food! ;)

Hibiscus is all over the place where I live on the Gulf Coast of Florida. All are in the ground and keeping growing and growing.

I have a yellow one as well. But I have it in a pot and bring it in for the winter. I think people around here have them in the ground - zone 6B - but I haven't put mine in the ground. I'm not sure if it would survive the winter.

There are a couple of kinds of hibiscus. I had some in Illinois that were perennial, although it took them a long time to wake up in the spring.

murraysmom, w hen my Sis-in-law still lived in NE OH (Mentor) she had several hibiscus growing in the ground. They didn't get very big, because they died back every winter, but they always came back in the spring and did bloom every summer.

Mine is full of blooms I will try to get pictures. They are all in the ground. Great pictures!

Thank you, Jim and Drewsmaga. I'm seriously thinking of putting it in the ground and seeing what happens. It's so big to bring in the house every year.
