From a hike we took almost 9 years ago. Man how time flies. This was when they used to love each other and never fought. Just gotta make it through these teenage years.
This was on that same hike. We were looking through old pictures last night and couldn't even remember taking these.

Comments (13)I love surprise flowers! Maybe not as much as reliable flowers :) , but there is a thrill that comes from first seeing an unexpected spike. I've lost patience with many an orchid (and a couple of garden aloes too, come to think of it) for reluctance to rebloom. For orchids, sometimes it is just a dip in night temperatures that is need. Or a dry period. Some species I never mastered--or there were hit and miss years. So many of the common orchids for sale can bloom for 4-6 months, or longer, and be purchased for $15. From a hike last fall, strange fungus-y looking growths on trees
The third one I discovered were not fungus, but instead were insects with white fuzzy tufts.

11 years agoFantastic pictures today. Happy anniversary, Raven. Your roses are gorgeous! Mine is a church steeple in Boston. The "one if by land, two if by sea" steeple to be exact!!
11 years agoMore Black/White photos I took and printed. Front of DH's 1946 Chevy pickup. Old trucks and cars are so much cooler than todays.
