I do not think it is that hard to get a quote from Semihandmade. Also, they have their price list on the website (just click on the links under each type of door). There are also places like Scherr's, which is who we used. Scherr's can take your Ikea layout and will give you a quote, which doesn't take much effort.

One thing you need to consider is the finish on the doors. With Scherr's and Semihandmade you can get unfinished or finished. The cost of finishing the doors often ends up more than cost of the doors themselves.

We paid Scherr's $8,000. The doors themselves (53 pieces including panels and some deco trim) was $2900. (Actually $3600, but there was a $725 discount. I have no idea why!) The finishing was $4100. We had ours painted white. Delivery and boxing charges were close to $1000. I never did get a quote from Semihandmade, but I had read they were a little more expensive.

We considered finishing the doors ourselves to save the money, but thankfully we came to our senses and splurged on having Scherr's paint the doors. They did a better job than we could and this probably saved us A LOT of time.

FYI, our cabinets from Ikea to go with these fronts were around $3500. So our total ended up being less than $12,000. I had done some pricing on cabinets from a semi-custom line at Home Depot and the prices were similar. I preferred the Ikea cabinets and the ability to see and try out all the parts at the stores, so we didn't pursue looking at semi-custom lines further.

I read from many that you can often get decent prices from local builders if you shop around, but I just didn't want to spend the time doing that when I felt like I would be happy with Ikea.

Doing custom doors with Ikea allowed us to customize a few things and get close to exactly what we wanted. Not exactly, but pretty close. I would do a kitchen like this again. OK, that might be a lie. :-) We did this kitchen DIY, and I hope to never do another kitchen ourselves again.
