I think I would pick COQUETTE DES BLANCHES because it has not gone one day this season without blooms - most days it is loaded with them. Even blooms steadily in 100 degree heat. It is the most delicate pink, with a green button-eye, varies from perfect quartered and swirled cups to camelllia shaped blooms. The fragrance could be stronger, but is lovely in quality, and the spent blooms have a strong, spicy fragrance that makes deadheading a joy. Also - good vigor, pea-green foliage outlined in red, and clean, clean, clean all season. Wish I could post a pic, but am still tech challenged. If we don't count minis, I'll pick one of those too. The old mini BABY DARLING from Ralph Moore has many of the same qualities to recommend it. Reliable, healthy, blooms without pause. Delicate apricot blooms of a camellia or water lily shape, and a strong and piercing lilac fragrance. On bad days I have considered redoing my garden with only these two roses en masse (oh, and maybe HOT COCOA...).

I'm going to have to agree with everyone that it's much easier to name my favorite annual (at least for this year), which is ZINNIA. This is my first year to grow them from seed, and I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner. I am in love! They are so easy to grow from seed, with so many beautiful flowers in so many varieties, and they are handling the drought and heat beautifully. Now for the hard question, which is my favorite perennial... I guess I'll have to go with my roses (antiques & austins) Or maybe echinacea. No, salvia greggii. Or canna... This question is too hard!

I've been sitting here for a few minutes contemplating what I'd do if I had a day to myself. No kids? No interruptions? Peace and quiet all day long? It's sounding so good, I just might try to arrange it in the next couple of months! :) I would sleep in. I'd read in bed. I'd have a long bath, go check out a couple of thrift stores, eat lunch out.... I'd go for a nice hike somewhere quiet by the water. I'd go home and order in some Vietnamese soup for dinner. I'd read out on the deck with a big glass of wine and some jazz music. Then I'd watch a good chick flick before reading in bed some more. Ahhhh.... I feel refreshed just having written about it! :)

DebbieOn , after collecting spidery varieties and UF's for years , I am only recently adding bagel varieties so am really interested to hear what others have to say about the bagel varieties that they grow . Wispy Rays and Black Falcon Ritual I think are both considered UF's but price has always been a big factor in my purchases and the price of them was higher than I could afford /was willing to pay at the time . The price is coming down so now I can consider purchasing these ones. I only ever paid big bucks for three daylilies . Two are still here but I cant say I am impressed with the plant performance of either of them . One is Reckamp/Klehms Angel's Smile and the other one is Genesta . The third is or should I say was Mapping Carolina . I absolutely loved the look of that daylily but it has gone the way of the dodo bird. It just withered away . So I have promised myself that I will never pay a high price for a daylily again . It is just too shocking to the pocketbook when a really expensive daylily dies or just barely hangs on . I can wait till the price for a plant is reasonable . The suggestion of Shores of Time and the fact that it does well is good to know ,I really appreciate that kind of info . I do grow Whatley's Butter Cream here and Solar Music is a yellow Whatley daylily that is similar. I love the look but I have not added it here ........yet. Assuming I can find it for a decent price in the future I would love to add it, as, if it does as well as Butter Cream has done here I would be very happy to include it in my gardens , I love the very flat face of Solar Music! For now I am happy with Butter Cream ...... a robust lovely yellow daylily although I like the height that Solar Musc is registered to be even better than the height of Butter Cream . I will have to do some research on Dena Marie's Sister but good to know it is a robust plant

jaboticaba, my favorite fruit. very rare, very difficult to cultivate and get to fruit, expensive and has a wonderful exotic tropial flavor. also has an extremely unusual way of growing fruit, they emerge along the trunks. i have had several small trees of these and they never seem to make it long in my landscape...i still keep trying thou lol ~ liz

I would be a Passion fruit - my vines would cover the world, my flowers would be beautiful and edible and my fruit would be oh, so good for you - juicy and tasty!!!

My first thought was Ryan Seacrest, but I won't say that. Maybe an avacado. Hard as a rock but I soften up after about 3 days.

A banana, maybe,

Green when young.

Well-travelled.

Look like a pr... - but more appereance than reality.

Thick-skinned - but tender and tasty underneath the exterior.

Yellow stripe down my back ... but it changes colour with age.
