Zucchini - Blossom End Rot or Pollination Issue?

Hi,

I have a zucchini plant that looks healthy, but an up close look at the fruit isn't as promising. I can't really tell what's going on. I know these are supposed to be pretty easy to grow but I was hoping someone could help me get an idea of what might be going on. The plant has lots of blossoms, both male and female. The fruit is growing, but once it gets to 3" or so long, it's done. It doesn't get any bigger than that, the blossom shrivels up and turns to mush. I have researched it could either be pollination or BER but I couldn't tell which one. I have seen just one fruit where the end of the squash was indeed rotted and grey. But the others just remain small and then the blossom falls off.

The other thing is I looked into self pollinating, but when I open the male flower there's not much pollen and when I try to remove with a q-tip, nothing comes off. Any advice is appreciated.
