Most fragrant wisteria?

I'm building a large pergola on the front of my home and we plan to use it as an outdoor room, of sorts. I planning on planting a wisteria vine(s) to cover it.

I spent quite some time today reviewing various online sites and fora, regarding which wisteria are the most fragrant. It appears there is some debate on the issue.

Generally, it appears most folks think Chinese Wisteria (Wisteria sinensis) is the most fragrant, but then there's discussion of hybrids between Chinese wisteria and (Wisteria formosa?) being most fragrant.

Finally, if I was sure that Japanese Wisteria (Wisteria floribunda) specifically Macrobotrys (or Kyushaku) had a strong enough fragrance, I would prefer planting that, because of its dramatic longer racemes.

Perhaps this topic has already been covered. If so, someone please send me in the right direction.

Thanks much!

John
