I have a dual fuel range with the two ovens. For something like cookie baking where the tendency is for the bottoms to get too brown, I use fan bake. The cookies will usually take a few extra minutes. For vegetables or meat I use convection bake, and just plain bake for bread or cakes. I also use convection bake for when I need the oven at its hottest, such as for pizza. I've never had a digital temperature display on any oven, so I'm comfortable with the. dials. I tend to be moderately casual about temperature, and I never bother to decrease the temperature if I'm using convection, but I will watch the time.

I just bought a best by broan insert (liner), it is installed but the hole isnt through the wall to outside yet. Its going out through the upper part of my cabinets. When I turn it on, it blows the cabinet door open! It has variable speed control, but the lights are off, low, high. I have the 42" version, but they make a 48"' which has a double blower with even more cfm. It looks most like the MA from underneath. I did not do a ton of research on my venthood, this one fit the bill with cfm, variable speed control, and price. (I think it was about $900 on ebay) It does have an 8" vent, which is larger than most, and I had to order the exterior vent cover online also, box stores dont stock 8" around here, and the vent cover seems really cheap, it doesnt have a screen in it to keep animals out, I will have to add one. But the vent itself seems good, so far at least. This route you buy the insert and build the hood around it.

Lots of violence and sadness... the grackles and cowbirds and the Keene falcon ... mixed in with grace of butterflies and that magnificent display from the Tom. And,of course, I loved all the hummers. We haven't seen any for quite a while ... is it because our neighbors don't have flowers and so they moved on to better pickings? We still put out the feeders and are hopeful. Still, there have been some recent visitors. Most morning a Mama duck brings her brood to our feeders. We enjoy watching the babies mature and become more independent grazers. A few of the babies A chipmunk has made a home in our gardens. He/she travels through the grass, tail up, from the nest to feeders. Love this little guy! And a young deer has been grazing along the river's edge. Ears up, heading back into the woods.

I am so stoked, my first Echeveria bloom! At first I thought it was just a new offset, and was worried it was etiolating... but SQUEEEEEE! Nope! I know I'm always jumping in before they are actually *blooming*. Sorry :-P Kd
