I have a dual fuel range with the two ovens. For something like cookie baking where the tendency is for the bottoms to get too brown, I use fan bake. The cookies will usually take a few extra minutes. For vegetables or meat I use convection bake, and just plain bake for bread or cakes. I also use convection bake for when I need the oven at its hottest, such as for pizza. I've never had a digital temperature display on any oven, so I'm comfortable with the. dials. I tend to be moderately casual about temperature, and I never bother to decrease the temperature if I'm using convection, but I will watch the time.

The Brutalist houses in my neighborhood look pretty generically modern inside too. I think sometimes the only clue from the inside might be window placement. It's rare, I think, except in really custom houses for much Brutalism to show up in interior detailing. Habitat in Montreal is a notable exception.

His own garden, done according to his tastes, not mine, is a mess: poorly planted to begin with, unmaintained afterward. I decided to rehabilitate it, and am having my helper dig out rootstocks and redo planting holes, as I weed and ponder shrubs and trees in addition to the roses. The roses can be found, good ones, big shapely HTs, reds and yellows, fragrant. The thought makes my own heart beat a little faster. We got about 4 1/2" of rain over the last week, more than in any month since spring of 2016 if my memories are correct, and oh, the water was welcome. All the same it wasn't enough to recharge reservoirs and groundwater. We're going to have to get a lot more rain before I'll risk planting this season. So we may just dig holes this fall as we continue to wait. The two week forecast is for clear and cold first, then drippy, but without significant precipitation. As far as I'm concerned we're still in drought.

I've had my Glacier White Corian countertops now for nearly 35 years. I had an integrated Corian large single sink installed in the existing countertops 16 1/2 years ago. Best sink EVER!!!! And I reused my Corian countertops when I did a kitchen remodel 3 years ago, and added a new 5 ft section which matches perfectly. I cannot imagine ANY other surface being as hard wearing and easy to keep! Yes, there are tiny scratches on the Corian. They are exactly like the tiny scratches sterling silver flatware gets when used. They all come together and it is called "patina"!. Stains? They wipe right off! Ask my DD in a household with a messy SAHH and two boys who are now teens but grew up with this stuff. NO MALE in that house is careful with this countertop and a lot of cooking goes on as well!!! Corian is used in hospital operating rooms due to it's anti-bacterial qualities. It is used extensively in very high end houses in Europe and the UK. Only in the US has it now come under the "urban legend" that it's "low end" and not as desirable as quartz or granite. It's a remarkable product and even with an unlimited budget, I would have no other.
