Comments (6)Buehl, Glad to have your eyes here!!! Banquette vs bench / couch and where it would best go ( south window vs east wall) is now an open question. From the sixth photo on are my drawings with measurements including height of windows from floor and to walls. I think I covered that. I'm on iPhone right now so harder to check really well but I just looked at my picassa album and it looks like those measurements are there. Comments (52)I love fragrance, but I do understand there can be too much of a good thing. I use the wax melters. I've tried tarts/melts you buy at the store, ones sold online from large companies, and ones sold by independent vendors. I've been given Scentsy, but refuse to buy it. Sorry, I'm not supporting any businesses set up that way. With all brands or vendors, I've found ones that worked and ones that didn't. At work, we take turns in our suite burning. We all have our own offices, and never use one in reception, so the fragrance stays concentrated in one location mostly, with just a hint in the hallway. We get lots of compliments. At home, I have a few burners, but only have one always in use. It's on a timer. It comes on about an hour before I get up and stays on around 2 hours. In the afternoon, it comes on about an hour before we get home and runs around 2 hours as well. This way I wake up to a nice fragrance and come home to one. At the same time, the pets get a break, I don't go nose blind, and I can get several uses out of one melt....See MorePlease help with bathroom choices - first time remodel
Comments (6)MSI Sparkling White quartz top I like this countertop. It's white but not plain stark white. You're bringing a lot of "bright white" into this room. It'll be softened with some color through your linens. Be sure you bring in something organic -- a basket on the toilet top? and some greenery. Armstrong Alterna veiled intrigue engineered tile Admittedly, I don't like marble (or marble-look), but I agree with another poster that this one is pretty "heavy" or "busy". I think something "softer" would suit you long-term. And Sherwin Williams Unique grey walls with chrome hardware. Gray is a trend, but paint is so easy to replace that it doesn't matter if you grow tired of this. Chrome hardware is standard and will stand the test of time. Choose one-hole fixtures or wide-set fixtures for ease of cleaning. The shower will be white. Choose large-scale tile for the walls (again, ease of cleaning) and put in more niches (or other in-shower storage) than you think you need. Are you going with a standard glass door or a shower curtain? Other thoughts: - I'd keep the large mirror -- but put a frame on it. Large mirrors are so much more practical than the small trendy mirrors that people are putting in today. They give you a larger view of yourself while you're dressing -- rather than a broken-up view. - You need some artwork on the wall on the left of the bathroom. - Put your new lighting on a dimmer switch....See MorePaint color - please help! Comments (43)I like it! reminds me of Tamara days fireplace. you'll notice all the color she has on that wall. You have the almost identical room set up and light. does hers look like a black hole? no, it doesn't. It's stunning. You need accessories and color. I'd switch out the rug to something w/a bit more contrast. maybe a diff fan or light. Try doing some colorful art on that blank wall you have. copy what she did behind that one sofa on the wall. Instead of the dark mantel, what if you did a thicker white oak one? on the hearth, try some orchids or small green plants. here's some art/color that you seriously need on that wall. and a few plants. the green against the black really pops. even if you dont' do the white oak mantel, please get something thicker. See? see if you can get a frame for you tv. or, one of those covers that let you display art over the top of it. that would be the perfect answer (but you still need some major art on that blank wall) maybe a wood coffee table. everything in the room (except the black) is muted and creamy. you need some contrast that goes w/the start black so that both spots work together. make sense? the other one she did. a white mantel surround....See Morelucillle
