LOL, just saw this thread was popping up again. Buford, I also FREQUENTLY use the timer feature when I'm out using drip irrigation, soaker hoses, etc....I've got so many all over the place that it's impractical right now to buy timers for every single one. That's a great idea about the zippered or velcro pockets. I will only wear blue jean pants in the garden, even in hot weather just because I'm always on my knees so pants and sometimes knee pads protect from sharp objects. And I don't want to contend with bug bites either which they prevent. I'm pretty handy though, I bet I could sow on my own zippered pocket if I couldn't find any cheapo jeans that had it already. Herboil, that's an interesting theory about the cell phone waves. I had heard that idea before several years ago when people were starting to realize the honey bee populations were dropping. I hadn't heard much about it lately.

I don't think people who are playing on their phones all the time have ocd--that would mean a vast proportion of our society does! Each successive generation has a shorter attention span that the last, but that being said, I imagine our grandparents would have had great fun playing with such toys as well. I really worry about the loss of interaction though. Last night my dd and I went to dinner and a family with two boys, maybe 10 and 7, sat next to us. The youngest had an ipad and the oldest a phone, (might have belonged to the parents,) and there was no conversation at all until the food was being decided upon and arrived. I see parents or sitters taking kids/babies for walks, chatting away on the phone constantly. Can no one stand silence without fiddling with something anymore? At a restaurant, I have to sometimes ask my dh to put his phone away--he's really gotten in the habit of constantly checking and is definitely not a person with even a hint of ocd.

I use it to speak to my daughter and other family in Nebr who only have cell phones. I live in England. It works pretty well, sometimes we have freeze ups or interferance but over all a great way to see them. The Jetson's cartoons are coming to life (remember how they used a tv/computer screen for phone calls)..........now I want a little space ship car and the ability to push a button to cook, clean, dress me etc!!

skype is beautiful! I have it on my computer. My sisters have it on theirs. One lives in Germany, the other in Australia. My niece in France has it, my daughter in ABQ has it, and the list goes on and on. When I am on my computer, and wish to talk with someone via skype, I turn skype on. One of my sisters works skype the same, the other has hers set up to turn on, when she turns her computer on. The latter sis sometimes tells us, she doesn't have time to talk... which is exactly why I only turn skype on, when I want to talk. My aussie sis calls me sometimes, when she wants to talk, and if we are both home, we turn the computer/skype on, and visit for FREE. Yes, skype is FREE, when you use it from computer to computer. You can have a skype account, and call from your computer to a phone. According to my aussie sis (she does it that way often) it is way cheaper than calling from the phone. Sometimes when the connection is not good, we turn the video off, and it usually improves. However, we really love to see each other, and love it even more, when two of us sister are together and then we visit with the third. All clear as mud? If you have any other questions I will try to answer. Moni
