Anyone from MA that knows the "black art" of copper pan showers?

I just wanted to confirm a few things as I think I've worked out how copper shower pans go together in MA.

1) The brass drain flange is soldered to the underside of the copper pan and then an adapter to 2" IPS PVC is screwed on and then that is glued onto the trap. So now there is a water tight connection between the pan and the drain.

2) The top of the drain screws into the brass bottom part of the drain without any tape or dope and is adjusted so it will be flush with the tiled floor.

3) Weep holes are not required as if water gets into the mud bed it will weep through the threads and into the drain.
