Jim, a story could be written about that series of photos! Was the guy on the right asking if he could sit there, and the middle guy said no? I like the final one--the lefties go back to drinking, the guy on the right with his hand over his face. My3dogs---your yard is just spectacular! Gazania, good puzzle. Today's haul from the yard: Nearly a quart of wild blackberries and almost 2 quarts of wineberries (a wild, invasive raspberry relative) As I was picking the blackberries I was reminded of the game Operation. Reaching carefully into the brambly tangle trying to avoid not only the blackberry thorns, but the wild climbing rose, the greenbriar and the poison ivy as well. Not all the dark red juice dripping off my fingertips was from the blackberries.

I was just lamenting that I have never seen an iceberg IRL, but reading that many Canadians have never seen an iceberg either made me feel better. A little. I've always wanted to see aurora borealis, too. Ah well, I'm not quite dead yet. ;)

A fallen tree in Hampstead Heath. The park is located in North London and the expansive area, covering nearly 800 acres, offers a natural sanctuary from the bustling city. This tree was felled during a storm two winters ago, leaving a hole in the canopy where it once stood. Photo by Kit Oates
