Well, those of us who answered something about not having a husband were on the right track; we just didn't pull the trigger and commit to that final answer. I will admit, I saw that change first hand when my (46 year old) neighbor passed; his younger wife (with 2 young kids) really changed for the better after he died.

For today, I will guess left his wallet at home (or forgot a method to pay for the date).

I think the study that shows that women's stress levels decreased after their husband dies must have studied women who were in really bad marriages. Unfortunately my Husband passed away 13 yrs ago and after all these yrs I can distinctly remember that my stress levels were INCREASED a lot after he died. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the answer today.
