Native American Necklace - Any help would be appreciated!
Comments (28)I know this is an old post but I ran across this Beautiful necklace read all the comments and had to say No matter who made it DO NOT let it go! it IS worth money! and Was made for a reason/purpose which is Obvious due to the stones put in it and their healing/metaphysical/energies/meanings. Every stone on there depicts energies of Love, Protection and ability to transform negative energy to positive energy, so I would guess this was giving as a wedding or engagement gift.. I read everyone saying the heart pendant stone is dyed or fake But it is Not! it is a Beautiful piece of Mookaite and in the body of the necklace I see what appears to be Amber, Turquoise, Rhodonite, Sugulite ( comes in several shades of purple and can have bands on it sometimes the darker shades are heat treated ), what appears to be either Beeswax Jasper or Calcite, the tiny stones close to the pendant may also be mookaite as it can range in shades of barn red all the way to wine purple.. Take it to a crystal shop to help you as it helps to see the stones in person to properly identify, but this piece was made to give and wish the person nothing but Love and Loving things, protection and good in abundance in their life and possible marriage! This is a Beautiful Loving piece you have Treasure it!...See MoreAny opinions on teeth whitening?
Comments (8)the bleaching systems- ALL of them- are short-term fixes unless you folow them up with having those whiter teeth bonded- which is pricey, but would be worth it if it really mattered that much... but then, if it really mattered, none of us would ever touch another cup of coffee ; ) from what I have seen, the over-the-counter strips work just as well as the slime-in-a-mouthpiece methods, at a tenth the price... and I'm noticing that my friend (who used to be a dental hygenist, and is now an aesthetician with a string of certificates) won't go near them, sell them, or recommend them to any of her clients... that tells ME all I need to know....See MoreTeeth clenching. Comments (44)Joanie--Where do you live? There is a craniofacial pain center at Tufts dentistry school in Boston that is terrific for TMJ. Unfortunately TMK falls between the cracks " of medicine, physical therapy, dentistry, etc. And as someone said above, it has many different causes. Some of the things that a place like Tufts might suggest: - A night guard, but one specifically for TMJ. They're different from the ones made for grinding, although they help with that too. The TMJ guards have a protuberance on top that holds your lower jaw in a certain position. - Manipulative physical therapy. These are the folks who actually lay hands on you. For TMJ, the physical therapist snaps on some latex gloves and actually massages pressure points inside your mouth. There are several jaw muscles that are hard to manipulate and cannot be relaxed through stretching etc. This can be a huge help. (If you can't find one of these professionals locally, at least buy a book about trigger points.) - Posture work. Someone can show you on a demonstration skeleton how a problem with back posture, shoulders, hips, knees or even feet can cause you to hold the jaw in a bad position. For example, tilt your hips, and y our shoulders have to tilt in the opposite direction. Then your neck tilts sideways to compensate. It's the way we're built. Computer work is a particularly bad offender when it comes to posture. - Relaxation techniques. As someone said above, stress isn't a particularly good word here. You can be happy as a clam and get terrible neck or TMJ pain from working at a computer without good eyeglasses. There is lots that can be done....See MoreYou know I like amber, just bought that 2 necklaces baltic vintage
Comments (13)I couldn't leave this for uncertainty, I want to put a final comment so people can learn as I did, First I want to send many thanks to all of you especially Jemdandy, I have learned a lot from your comment, was really honest positive and very informative. 2nd, for these unique two baltic amber necklaces, it turns out that they are copal necklaces not as I bought them, I have contacted a really good russian amber dealer and sent him the photos, he told me that he thinks that it is copal and told the only test would show the difference between amber and copal not ultraviolet test not salt water floating test, but is the hot needle test smell, and here it goes, I did it and compared the smell of genuine amber, and it very difficult, it is copal, I hope other people would learn from this like me, thanks all....See Morerhizo_1 (North AL) zone 7
