mad_gallica -- 'Rose de Rescht' is available clean, but not due to our heat therapy. We got it from Heirloom, who apparently imported a clean one from Europe. We indexed it here and found it clean. true-blue -- I've heard people make claims for resistance to fungal diseases and other "miracle cures," but I have no reason to believe any of them. Removing the viruses that cause mosaic will alleviate any symptoms those viruses may cause, which may include fewer, smaller flowers, shorter stems, less longevity, less cold-hardiness, etc. And in at least some varieties that are said to have "declined," it seems to help reverse that. But no, I'm not aware of (nor would I expect) other major benefits. I'm sure by "indexing," you mean the heat therapy process. Actually, indexing follows therapy -- it is the series of tests done to demonstrate freedom from the viruses, after we've removed them.

I just had the same thing happen to me with Della Terra Vittoria White quartz from AZ Tile. Manufactured by santamargarita. I am sick over the result. If I had known it could vary this much I would have tried to get a dyelot # from our bathroom counter install just a few months prior. (Or chosen something else!) I thought since we had our sample (and one full counter installed that matched said sample) that we knew what this would look like. I am really disappointed. Our bathroom counter is a true white with beautiful veining and depth variation if you look closely. The kitchen counter slabs have sparse veining and have an overall grey, almost rosy undertone. It looks like a mottled pattern with some veining instead of a veined counter with some mottling. And they are an entirely different shade. The kitchen counters wash out against our wall and backsplash and almost have a pink hue when viewed next to the white cabinets. If it's a known quantity that there is this little consistency, they should be required to provide a sample from the dye lot you are purchasing. And insist that customers preview the slabs before finalizing the sale. I like everyone else was told that quartz was consistent and that was unnecessary. I pulled the trigger on this remodel because I wanted to love it. It's not reasonable to expect customers to be expert enough to head this off.

Oklahoma has a beautiful rounded flower. It repeats more for me than its brothers Mr. Lincoln or Papa M. All three have damask scent but Papa has the most rich fruity version. Oklahoma has a rich perfume just not as strong as Papa. Papa takes a while in the ground to get going and doesnt like hard pruning AT ALL. Mr lincoln seems to prefer cooler weather and shuts down in summer here during mid 80 F and above. Papa will keep flowering in warmer weather. Firefighter has a similar fragrance to the three and keeps going in hot weather. The red does not shift to pink as Mr. Lincoln and Chrysler Imperial can do here. Chrysler Imperial has another strong damask scent. Papa M. and CI are the most beautiful scents to me. I have not grown or smelled Crimson Glory but people say it is one of the most lovely perfumes a red rose ever had. Working on a space to plant one..........

Many places are selling Kordes roses. The own root mail order companies are Heirloom Roses, Chamblees Roses, Roses Unlimited (you may have to call directly for ordering) & High Country Roses. Edmunds Roses sells grafted roses. Jackson& Perkins sells the ‘German Bred’ roses but look to see if they are own root or grafted. It should say it on the details. Star Roses recently received the Kordes stock from Newflora, so you may be seeing from Star more & more Kordes roses where you shop locally for roses. I would contact Star to ask if a specific rose you see is own root or grafted. HTH. And if you are looking for specific roses, get on their mailing lists for catalogs or do planning in December/January for ordering. Pretty much all companies have a safe to ship by date but if you want it earlier than that, you will have to contact directly the company. Most are accommodating.
