Going to give kitchen ceiling another paint try

My living room and bedroom ceilings were painted by a professional painter.

They both have a uniform white look. Every spot looks the same as the rest of the ceiling.

My kitchen ceiling was painted by me. I used the same paint as the one
the professional painter used on my living room and bedroom ceilings
(Behr Flat Ceiling Interior Paint).

However, the kitchen ceiling is not uniform in appearance. Some spots have shadow like appearances.

I'm thinking of adding some water to the paint so that it becomes easier to roll into the ceiling with the roller.

We'll see.

Do I have to drench the roller with paint? I can swear that I really drenched it when I painted the kitchen ceiling.

Do I have to roll the roller more times over an area before moving to another spot?

Do I have to press harder onto the ceiling?

Is there something I can add to the paint? I seem to recall the professional painter squirting something to the paint before stirring it.

I don't know.

If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.
