Comments (22)marti8, I only did the tear down or at least 98% of it, I did not remove the electrical, too scary for me. I can do drywall taping and such, but I am so picky, I really don't like my finished work as well as a pro. As far as the build went, a lady I work with has a son-in-law that does construction and he needed some extra money. His price was fantastic (for me) so I had him build the new walls and columns, and he did the electric. I ran out of money for the rest of the job, and have been saving up for the last part of it. Unfortunately he is too busy right now (a good thing (for him) considering this economic enviroment), especially with the results of the recent hurricane here, so he has plenty and better paying options right now. I am totally confidant that I could build a simple wall, but the last wall that needs to be built is more complicated (figures) LOL desertsteph, thank you too. That is cool that you have experienced photographers in your family. When I was young I did wedding photography and in-my-home studio photography when my ex and I were stationed in Germany. Wedding photography is serious, nerve racking hard work, there is no way I could do it at my age and condition now :( I will be happy just doing the photography that I can for now....See MoreAny Word With Friends Sharks?
Comments (14)I have three people I've been playing with constantly for a few years, my niece & two guys who I randomly played. We've always got games going - usually pretty even wins/losses. I wish I had more "friends" to play with, (my sister says I'm too competitive) sometimes I even set up my opponent for good word because I'm afraid to beat them too often (usually if they're friends IRL) . It's so interesting to learn about these random players if they'll chat with me. One guy is a really good player, I told him I guessed he was a professor or something. Turns out he fixes motorcycles for a living, also runs a fruit stand! I think my highest score for a word was 190ish....See MoreBlue Star Oven: Any words of wisdom on using the convection?
Comments (5)One thing you didn't say was whether your BS is gas or electric. They do make electric wall ovens. I am going to assume you have the gas range oven as it is more common. Not everything needs convection or should use convection. If you are baking, use the convection. Roasting, don't use convection. Gas ovens without convection produce superior results when roasting. If you are baking and need even heat throughout for cooking and browning, reduce the temperature by 25 degrees. If the recipe calls for cookies at 375, cook them on convection at 350. The times should be similar or a little less. You will have to test for doneness. It's a more manual method of baking. Now days, many electric ovens will do the temperature conversion calculation for you when you select convection mode. People have forgotten that they need to do this. With the BS gas, you will have to go old school and do the conversion in your head. One thing that you need to be aware of is the need for extra pre-heat time. It's really important that the oven be at full temperature. This takes time and it's a big oven to heat. So, give yourself a lot of time for pre-heat. That may be one of your difficulties, an oven that isn't at full heat. I would also get an oven thermometer and keep it in the oven. I never trust my ovens. I've cooked in too many different ones to trust them....See MoreUser
