Hi there, I'd think something with a yellow bloom or yellow foliage or a variegated yellow-leaved plant would be an excellent addition to your color scheme. I guess, hence your try of the Kerria japonica... Something purple would also be stiking as would a trellis of Clematis that blooms early fall and repeats again in the fall. Or a very long bloomer of Clematis in the species viticella group. Plants I would consider for your climate: Clematis 'Blue Moon' Clematis viticella 'Venosa Violacea' Clematis viticella 'Etiole Violet' Clematis 'My Angel' for it's very soft blue foliage and yellow nodding blooms in spring and fall. Physocarpus opulifolius 'Monlo'/'Diablo' Ginkgo biloba 'Jade Butterflies' - That's my pick for a shrub. A Clematis Trellis however would look excellent too. Bronwynsmom - I'm ok with keeping the stand together. For now, I'll keep the loveseat because of money reasons. If I happen to run across something that works, for a good deal on CL I'll get it but the odds of finding something aren't real great. Everything I see on there is microfiber which I won't have. When we get rid of the loveseat I'll replace it with a recliner. Still want to replace the wingchair. Not sure whether I like scheme 1 or 2 better. 1 is more practical to use the extra chair for viewing the tv but I want to use my palm somewhere in the room. Can we talk more specifics for what I should be looking for? Shopping trip is happening next Monday or Tuesday. I found a magazine holder and large basket at Target. Both are the same style, dark rattan (?) I believe. A pic of the mag. holder is online but not the large basket for some reason. Didn't order my ottoman yet. I haven't thought about this room lately. I haven't done any mock ups with dragging chairs around either.

When you made the suggestion, I remembered that I had spoken to my better half's ex-doctor about the Indian or Pakistani fabric, and she said she would love to see/have it (he could not understand her, as she has an accent and also has that lilting tone that he can't hear, so he switched Dr.'s). I will contact her and find out about somewhere to donate the fabric. I'll let you know if it works.
