Comments (7)if you want pix of cones.. find a 'birder' .. a person who has a camera made for taking pix of small birds at distance and height .. i do not have the knowledge to take said pic against a sunlight blue sky.. i bet a filter was involved.. as well as a ginormous telescopic lens ... pix from my friend carol wolf ... seriously.. i have no clue how she got such clarity.. while standing on the ground.. and snapping a shot 10 feet above her head [2 of the pix] ... lets just write it off to having a real camera.. and experience ... and of course.. talent took me 2 days to find them in the Picea folder.. whats that all about ... lol ... these are not the pix i referred to previously.. again.. those are for another day ... its too early.. and my pupils are vibrating from coffee.. to tell if they are duplicates .. or double shots.. to insure a clean pic ... ken...See MoreDirect sun vs Window sun
Comments (3)seeds, until they actually sprout, just need heat. A window is a good place to keep them warm and germinating. I have kept them in a window until they were 2-3 inches tall then spooned them into small pots and put them outside. If you have a grow light you can grow them all winter inside. Comments (7)I use a cold frame, it gives you 20-30 degrees. So mine are out in Michigan already. I agree when below the 50's putting them outside does little good. I would say even stunting them. I have to bring in at night. I follow hardening off procedures at first. We are hitting 50F so it's 70- 75F in the cold frame. When temps hit 60F I have to vent cold frame. As it can get to be 90F. Peppers just explode when grown at the right temps. If you have grown them a bit you must have noticed when temps reach a certain level, they just grow like crazy, well it can be done a lot earlier with a cold frame. Those exposed to colder temps seem to be slow to get going, at least that is what I have observed. Tomatoes can take more cold, but I try to avoid it with them too. Well it's 25 F right now, when it warms to 45F I'll put them out for the day (65-75 in cold frame)....See Moregoldstar135
