Teasing Georgia , ballerina and no id
Im sure like others I like to wait to post when conditions are perfect but I'm trying to just roll with the season so far ! I really loved my teasing Georgia this spring . I might get another for the other side of my pergola . My sweet dh bought it for me for Christmas and painted it for me last summer when I was pregnant. I daydreamed about swinging my baby on the swing under the pergola and now it's a favorite evening activity of ours. We watch the dogs play and the cows if they are close , and the birds at the feeder. It's part of those moments you wish you could replay over !
It's at least 6+ feet wide and a new shoot makes it about 5 ft tall
There is just no way to show how truely beautiful this rose is! It may look unruly and out if control but I love it .
Here is ballerina shading a little whimsical toad house. And my bulldog who loves nothing more than to trample tender plants . He is no dainty ballerina ! Haha I love the color variations on ballerina ! usually this rose attracts a lot of bees but I haven't seen em yet
Next up up is a no id , I would love some guesses!!

Comments (27)I planted TG last year and I have to say she only had one bloom last year. This year she has lots of blooms on her first flush. She will be having her second flush soon. I love her blooms, fragrance and abundance of blooms but the colour is too soft for my garden. It doesn't stand out at all. It wash out quickly in the hot sun. I just planted Rosarium this spring and mine doesn't seem to grow much. I guess it needs time to get establish. I usually don't worry about first year plants since I know that it takes time to settle and grow. My only concern for first year plants is that they grow strong and survive the first winter. Comments (71)I have two teasing Georgia’s - one on either side of my long driveway. of course I planted them too close and they will probably start to spill over onto it in a couple of weeks. Is Teasing Georgia a good candidate for pegging? Comments (54)I grew both Teasing Georgia and Crown Princess Margareta in Eastern Ontario, 4B. Both had a lot of winter die back and needed protection. CPM struggled and only bloomed infrequently, though she was also in a poorer site, less sun. Teasing Georgia was by far the better of the two. She would grow back from less than a foot high in late March to as much as seven feet by end of July. Her canes were also quite flexible and twined easily on a decorative obelisk where she bloomed a lot, repeatedly and often. She was also very healthy in a humid climate. I am growing CPM here in my new garden in zone 7a, Okanagan Valley. In fact it is the same plant I had in Ontario which I brought with me. I very much like her flowers form and colour. She is very vigorous and healthy here, but still only blooms in 3 or 4 flushes a season with some scattered flowers in between. Though this may be partly because she has only had two seasons in the ground here after the shock of a transcontinental move. We shall see this summer. I definitely feel that TG is Austin's best yellow climber and will be getting another plant this year to grow her again in a more clement climate. I would suggest growing grafted plants of either of these in your colder climate if you can find them. Bury the bud graft 4 inches at least. Hope this is helpful. Comments (19)I would just point out that neem oil has excellent fungicidal properties and is frequently recommended for good, organic rose care. It is suggested for use by the American Rose Society to control diseases like powdery mildew, black spot and can even have an impact on reducing the incidence of rust. One just needs to realize that it is only a preventative fungicide, not a curative, so of most benefit before the plant becomes highly infected. But it will limit the spread of any fungal disease to unaffected foliage. Just avoid spraying during the heat of the day - early morning or late evening. My current garden in the woods is too shady to grow many roses but when I did, I swore by Rose Defense by Green Light, which is clarified hydrophobic extract of neem oil. It did a great job of limiting any fungal issues as well as for common insect control. btw, it also works on insects other than just soft bodied ones by disrupting life cycle functions like eating, molting, mating and egg laying. It also acts as a repellent and has been effective against Japanese beetles. And it is 100% organic and OMRI approved.
