I got the Netflix notice this morning and was hap-hap-happy to hear season 2 would be ready for viewing on May 6th. Looking forward to it. :-)

Having lived in San Antonio since 1981 I would stay in San Antonio and visit Austin for a day trip to see your show get made. You can find Mexican food in Austin, but what we know now as Mexican food was literally invented in San Antonio by the first Canary Island settlers. As an added treat, gourmet Mexican is taking off in the area around the old Pearl Brewery. If you ask someone where to find breakfast burritos, they will look at you funny. They are called tacos here (where they were invented). Explore the Alamo and the River Walk downtown. You could go up into the Tower of the Americas for a quick thrill. Unless you are familiar with what you're looking at, there's not much to see from up there. Just south of town are more Catholic missions from the 1700s. Food along the River Walk is highly competitive in quality. San Antonio has become a culinary hot spot recently. More than half the restaurants in San Antonio are Mexican. If you are interested in home designs, find La Jara Blvd on a map and explore that neighborhood on both sides of La Jara. Another architecturally significant neighborhood nearby is off of Eldon Road and Garraty Road. Those are old money neighborhoods. Other nice neighborhoods are around East Olmos Drive and Beacon Ave south of Hildebrand. Museums include the Witte on Broadway (near the botanical gardens and close to Pearl Brewery), the McNay Art Museum (on New Braunfels Rd near Eldon Road), and the San Antonio Museum of Art (on W Jones Ave). The main library downtown is an architectural attraction both outside and in. The San Antonio Zoo, adjacent to Brackenridge Park and the Witte, is also a treat. Market Square downtown is a good place to experience a Mexican market type shopping atmosphere without driving another 150 miles. Another Mexican shopping treat is the Fiesta Store at the corner of Main and Ashby. It's cramped and tight and packed full of stuff. That area is also near the Pearl Brewery. If you are adventurous you could see if you can find the spring fed headwaters of the San Antonio River. It's not a lot of hiking, but you can't just park right next to it.

After reading this thread, I searched for the series on YouTube. Found both seasons, but the episodes uploaded are not the best. One person's upload was too dark, the one I had to settle on was too small. In other words, much of the time the actors' heads are cut off. But I get the gist. Looked into Netflix for $11.99 a month. I couldn't justify paying that along with my monthly cable bill. I see there is a free trial tho. How easy is it to cancel after the free trial?

My problem with the little bit I watched was that everyone seemed to be trying too hard, as actors, I mean. It made me uneasy. I saw a lot of potential in the premise, the dialogue, and really like the individual cast members but I just couldn't get into it at all. I may try another episode or two later today, with a hopeful attitude. I like intelligent, quirky comedies.
