Thank you my dear friends. Roselvr, you are so right. I am still shell shocked she isn't here. I have a hard time walking into her house and she isn't sitting on her end of the couch smiling from ear to ear to see me walk in. I am having to go over and clean her house out. And Mama was a bit of a hoarder...never seems to have thrown anything away. When I dusted anything it had to be put back just the way I found it. I know she didn't want anything to change since Daddy died 6 years ago. And yes, I went to Mama's every single day to care for her. I go by and get my sister to supposedly help me clean the house. But so far all she does is sit on the porch, drink pepsi and smoke cigarettes as she tries to tell me what to do next. I am tired of trying to get her help so I just let her be. At least she is there with me. I can't believe she still smokes after seeing the h*ll Mama went through the last few weeks of her life. I know I would not! But any way, today I get to go for a heart echo. Yesterday the doctor heard a heart murmur and ordered one since I am 50...fat and female...LOL I have never had a doctor tell me I had a murmur before. I am scared there is something wrong with a heart valve. She said it sounded floppy or slushy. And all I wanted from her yesterday was a prescription for my Synthroid...hahaha! Guess I got more than I bargained for. I'm glad Mama isn't here to be scared about me. She was always scared that I would "come" down with something. Bless her little heart. Deb

Remember the good times; Don't dwell on the bad times. Keep a notebook handy. Place your Mama's name on the cover. When you are alone and think of her, jot down a specific memory or event. Don't concern yourself about good writing or chronolgical order - just jot down the memory and the date of that event if you can. Collect photos of Mama, her friend, and family, and label each one - dates are important if you have these, but don't write on the face of the photo. Its important to identify, where possible, the names of people in these photos. As time passes, you will find the collection has grown and finally, you can consider writting her biography putting events into chronological order. The result will a genealogical tribute to your mom and someting that you can pass along to other members of your family. Remember, what you consider as mundane is really a history of that time period, and you may be surprised at how much has changed. Mama's biograph can be a historical record of "How it Was" in her day. Relate the events in her life to the current events of those days, 9/11, wars, economic disasters, town improvements, new constructions, moving to a different house, marriages, births, and deaths, etc.

I remember your post well, Ruthie. I guess you can't get pictures, can you? I would love to see how much they have grown. Cardinals are such beautiful birds. I hope I have some this winter around the house. They come here and feed with us. But mostly seems like in the summer they stay out in the fields and forrest where we live.
