Comments (10)Oh, man. I wish I could grow vandas (too hot & dry in SoCal--would take a lot of fussing). Did you grow that plant, Annie Deighnaugh? Really nice. caflowerluver, that is a really charming rose! I normally don't go for such wild colors, but the cluster of flowers is such an interesting study of the variance between individual blooms. Or maybe I'm just getting bolder as I age. My husband and I took a weekend trip to Boise, Idaho in 2012. While there we visited a rose garden. After walking the entire garden, and admiring many, we each named our favorite. 10 years agoSpring migrants are wandering through the area; been enjoying the many warblers, grosbeak, and less common birds, such as Swainson's thrushes. Even this western tanager has been hanging around for the past few days. Not my best photograph ever, as I had to take it quickly from some distance away, out of an upstairs window. Put I think he is a beautiful bird, even a bit fuzzy. ;)

Mine is some banana bread that my brother-in-law made and then dropped off at my house, along with 5 bags of mulch!! How great is that? Now if I could only talk him into putting the mulch down for me!!
