Tiny bugs on my Meyer Lemon tree?
Comments (16)Thanks Patty! I just ordered a bottle from amazon. Question: how exactly do I apply it? Do I pour into a spray bottle or do I need to somehow add it to my hose? (New at gardening so excuse the dumb question. I tried to search amazon reviews but didn't find the answer) Also, should I spray the whole tree or just that single branch that has blooming flowers? I haven't seen them on the other branches but maybe I'm just not looking close enough. Should I spray my other plants as well? All my plants are in the same area... Lettuce, basil, green onion, other citrus plants, etc... Thanks so much!!! Spinosad seems like a miracle worker!...See MoreTiny Black Bugs on my H. Serpens - Aphids?
Comments (1)Sounds like they could be aphids. I just had the problem (and still do here and there) with my Obovata. They also like to stay on new growth and on tips. You can use either a spray bottle of water with a few drops of dish soap, a spray bottle with a mixture of rubbing alcohol (mostly) with some water and a few drops of dish soap, Neem Oil, or just hose them off with plain old water everytime you see them. It won't cause root rot if you just aim the spray at the leaves/vines (and I wouldn't think you'd have to do it everyday, so it's not like you're keeping the hoya constantly moist even if the water hits the soil). All the other things I mentioned should also just be applied to the leaves, not the soil. There are many other things you can do, but the ones I listed seem to be the least aggressive. Good luck! Comments (2)We have had a lot of rain lately. I'm pretty sure there hasn't been any hail, though. We did have really strong winds the other day. I think these pictures were taken the day of the winds, though. Maybe before. It's the second year's growth....See MoreLittle black bugs on my Apple trees
