Comments (11)Uba Tuba Granite a unique pattern and elegant style Uba Tuba granite has a stylish versatility. It has creative features that are absolutely unique. This type of granite is quarried primarily in Brazil but finished tiles and slabs of this granite can be purchased anywhere. It has a noticeable dark green color with dashes of specks of gold and brown. It blends well with other glass and wooden furniture. It can go nicely with classic interior designs as an ideal decorative stone material. Some of its varieties are available in brown color combined with golden dashes. The green tiles and slabs of this granite are commonly used material for vanity worktops, stone fixtures, backsplash, and countertops. Since Uba Tuba granite has unique features, it can make any home or environment very stylish. Its surface illustrates changing of colors every time light reflects on it. In a room with moderate lighting, the granite may look like smooth black granite with dashes of gold. Apparently, if the granite is placed in a room with enhanced lighting, it will transform into a gorgeous combination of brown, gold, and green. As this occurs, the ambiance and look of the room will be recreated because of the changing colors. Because of this, the granite had been a favorite material in almost all household constructions especially for countertops. Uba Tuba granite also brings different artistic benefits. One of these benefits is its expediency to maintain and clean. This granite only requires wiping of granite cleaner in order to maintain its shiny and smooth finish....See More$8500 Condo Kitchen Progress Update 3 - Backsplash!
Comments (10)Our cabinets came form Home Depot American Woodmark Brand. We got a good deal because they were having a sales if you spend over $5,000 you got a free sink base cabinet which saved about $400 so on cabinets plus granite it cost us $4,600. We also bought tile that was on clearance so it was about $1 per square foot of tile. The contractor we really lucked out on we found him on Craigslist. He was a MA licensed builder and he showed us his own kitchen which he remodeled to show us his work. He also came in at an insane lower price then any one else we had put a quote on the job. I think the labor including electrical and plumbing (he knew people who did these) it was a total of $3,600. then over time we had to add the $300 because the wall we turned into the breakfast bar was load bearing so he had to install a new support beam which added a bit to the cost. It should be done sometime next week so I will post new pics then!...See MoreKitchen glass mosaic back-splash recommendations
Comments (9)I don't know what your client has in mind completely. It might be worth asking the client for some inspiration pictures for what she has in mind. I think some glass mosaics might be overpowering for that granite. But there are some glass mosaics that might work as long as they are very plain. Super white glass tile Maybe something like this with a tiny bit of pattern: Silver planks glass tile Or maybe this one which might work with the colour in the counter: glass mosaic - raw silk...See MoreKitchen Back-splash: Light or dark?
Comments (6)Agreeing with others, but want to add. Not only is backsplash choice last, but it also should not be chosen until after everything else is installed. Everything looks entirely different after it is installed, and if you choose your backsplash before that, you will make a mistake. Don't worry about not having your GC still available for the backsplash after everything else is installed. You will actually get a better backsplash installation if you hire a tile installer yourself. Remove the backsplash from the GC's scope of work, and hire someone yourself later to install it....See Morekelleg69
