Glass tile back splash what color?
Comments (4)Hooray, that link worked! Hmm... Okay now that I have seen it, I am thinking either subways or squares in a warm creme color might work. Check out glasstileoasis.com and modwalls.com for possibilities. On the latter are some nice 1 by 2 patterns in creams/browns that might work for you... Good Luck!...See MoreKitchen back splash, neutral or color?
Comments (8)The 4" backsplash is part of the laminate counter, as much as I'd Iove to replace them we just don't have the money for it right now. They were actually forest green and I painted them with rustoleum countertop paint for the time being :) @Riley that's what I was thinking, I'm just so scared of color! But that is very true if it doesn't work I'll just paint over it What color would work for this kind of thing? I'm not big on red/orange/yellows...See MoreShould my kitchen back splash mosaic be centered?
Comments (49)Well Mitchell, I think your kitchen and home are lovely. Your floors are really cool too! I know the mosaic is bugging you, and it probably would me too, however, it is still very pretty and will probably never be given a second thought by anyone but you and your fiancee. And like a few suggested, once you accessorize, get your hardware in, etc...it's not going to be such a focal point to you like it is now. So, if it turns out not to be such an easy fix, please don't stress about it. Your home is gorgeous! I'm a Texan too, going through a Harvey remodel, so maybe I've just finally learned to not sweat the small stuff with all this house business...as a matter of fact, I've got some "TX hacks" working downstairs in my kitchen right now. ;) Congratulations on your beautiful new home....See MoreRecommendation for fireplace surround and kitchen back splash
Comments (10)Lovely kitchen. It's a very pleasant and mild design (very good thing - you won't get tired of it and there's nothing about it that will be "dated" in six months). It also leaves you lots of options for neat tiling/backsplash/fireplace surround. One aspect of design history you could tap into for indirect inspiration is Victorian fireplaces. Many fireplaces from this era had really exquisite tile surrounds: The surrounds and hearths came in all sorts of designs and colors (we have four fireplaces in our Victorian house and they all have different tile). The reason I say indirect inspiration is because you'd want a contemporary/more modern take on this to match your interior - clean lines, modern tile designs, etc. Having a surround of interesting decorative tile on the fireplace surround and tying the rooms together by using them as accents in the backsplash would be very nice, I think....See Morechispa
