Need help choosing range hood and where to end glass back splash
Comments (8)It looks like the Imperial 42" is the favorite. It is funny that most of my "inspiration" pictures have a similarly shaped hood, since I saved those images in my "backsplash" folder to try to help my choose the BS height (i.e., I didn't intentionally choose those pictures for the hood). The voting for BS height is mixed, with the majority so far choosing the 8' height. The image above with the tall gray glass BS is from the Smallbones catalog -- I love that look -- makes me wish I could have gone "topless." I think I prefer the taller glass BS, but I'm not sure how to overcome the technical difficulties with the chinmey extending beyond the glass. The glass and wall above will be painted the same color so the line will not be a strong contrast like most of the images above, although the shine factor will obviously be very different....See MorePlease help with tile back splash recommendations
Comments (55)It looks great! Thanks for sharing your finished back splash. It's always nice to see everything come together. How are you liking your counter-tops? I am considering those for my own kitchen. They look wonderful in your photos....See MoreKitchen back splash, neutral or color?
Comments (8)The 4" backsplash is part of the laminate counter, as much as I'd Iove to replace them we just don't have the money for it right now. They were actually forest green and I painted them with rustoleum countertop paint for the time being :) @Riley that's what I was thinking, I'm just so scared of color! But that is very true if it doesn't work I'll just paint over it What color would work for this kind of thing? I'm not big on red/orange/yellows...See MoreShould my kitchen back splash mosaic be centered?
Comments (49)Well Mitchell, I think your kitchen and home are lovely. Your floors are really cool too! I know the mosaic is bugging you, and it probably would me too, however, it is still very pretty and will probably never be given a second thought by anyone but you and your fiancee. And like a few suggested, once you accessorize, get your hardware in, etc...it's not going to be such a focal point to you like it is now. So, if it turns out not to be such an easy fix, please don't stress about it. Your home is gorgeous! I'm a Texan too, going through a Harvey remodel, so maybe I've just finally learned to not sweat the small stuff with all this house business...as a matter of fact, I've got some "TX hacks" working downstairs in my kitchen right now. ;) Congratulations on your beautiful new home....See MoreRelated Professionals
