Brooklyn Botanical Garden Annual Members Sale 2016

On a rainy Wednesday evening, on a not so calming environment, I decided to pay the Brooklyn Annual Sale (Members Day, a day before it opens to the public) a visit for a little treat to myself, and also really curious to learn what C&S they have and perhaps might find some really cool hidden gems. Wrong. It was mayhem, an estimated about a few thousand people turned up, all squeezed into the barricaded compound at the gorgeous Cherry Esplanade. There were plenty of plants, but they were also snagged really quickly. People don't walk with boxes, they bring legit massive carts to haul their loots.

I spent the first 15 mins orienting myself in this madness, only to find the C&S corner parked right beside the Orchid section, completely picked over.

The selection weren't wild as compared to my colorful visits to the farmers market, and the prices were on the steeper side generally speaking. Though all proceeds goes to the garden and afterall it's still for a good cause. Other than that, I have other destinations that stands on the top of my list to visit.

This was my selection during the initial craze, but for some reason after analyzing my impulse, I just put them all back. Including the orchid! Figured I couldn't give the care it deserves.

Plymouth (MA) Garden Club. Our plant sale is this Saturday May 21 from 9 to noon at the Chiltonville Congregational Church 6 River St Plymouth MA. We have very nice plants both divisions and starts carefully tagged and packed, as well as kitchen treats, attic treasures and boutique items. Come early for best selection. The Cherry Blossoms were too pretty not to snap more photos...

I ended up with this box.. No C&S, but half of them were gifts to co-workers. So I think I did pretty well..
