Depends on what look you're going for - contemporary? Then spend the $ now on frameless doors and get them installed. More traditional? Then do a shower curtain(s) and frame your mirrors. It's not that hard to do (I did it with a huge jigsaw puzzle in ds's nursery) after the mirrors are on the wall, as long as there's room. Only thing is you want to paint the back of the trim black so you don't see reflection of the wood where it overlaps the mirror. A mirror will be thicker than the jigsaw puzzle, so you'll need to route a channel in the back of the trim pieces where it overlaps the mirror, or else the outer edge of the trim won't lie flat against the wall. If you don't have the carpentry skills to DIY, ask your finish carpenter to do it - I'm sure it'll be a lot less than $200 per mirror (42" x ? each). Do you have pics of bathrooms so far (vanities, sinks, faucets, lighting installed?) so we can see what style is? Of course, oceanna's solution is much easier to DIY and looks so pretty (but more casual/contemporary). As always, oceanna, your painting is beautiful! I'd love to see your whole bathroom!

I am trying to do the same, now that I have figured out that the little strip is called a bulb seal. :-) Two questions: 1) mine appears to be slightly smaller than the width of the shower door - would that make sense? My shower door is 3/8" and I'm wondering if I should get the 1/4" seal. 2) I've been reading reviews on the adhesive that comes on the back of the strip and they're mostly terrible - is there a better way of adhering it to the edge of the shower door? Thanks in advance for the help - I've never done this before!

Most sliding glass doors have a little give in the absolute fit. Different width at top and bottom is a bad sign -- somebody didn't plumb the walls before tiling! So I don't know what that will mean, but the door itself doesn't have to be the problem. Look for one that fits, say, a 55-60 inch alcove. Those with a fixed track may be less forgiving, not sure.

My husband and I replaced that on our shower door a number of years ago. I remember we took the door off. We had installed it ourselves and had the instructions in a file folder of home items. I no longer have the instructions because after he passed away I followed the directions in reverse and removed the door. I replaced it with a rod and shower curtain because I hated that door.
