Is it true about Samsung induction ranges?

Anglophilia

I was reading about the Samsung induction slide in rage with the splitable oven, and it interested me. I like the fact it was a range (less expensive than a cooktop with oven beneath) and I like that it had knobs like a gas range.

So, today I went to the most knowledgeable local appliance store (locally owned) in town and asked about it. They said they now only carry Samsung TV's as the customer service and availability of parts for Samsung appliances was totally unacceptable. They said this new range was also not ready for prime time - lots of problems.

He showed me another brand of range (can't remember if it was Bosch or Miele) but I did not like the touch controls. He also said that with any of these computerized cooktops/ranges, the computer part is virtually unfixable and that he ne just gets a new one.

This was not reassuring to a woman who bought a 1948 O'Keefe & Merritt gas range used, 34 years ago, for which the only repair was a broken spring on the cooktop cover!
