Hi MX702, we're in MA and doing the fall/spring build too. We're going with tecnobloc blu pavers and matching bullnose coping. I've seen some pools with similar set up and it looks great. search "southern NH pool build" on here and you'll see CNR's pool which is beautiful and uses the blu pavers/coping. Good luck!

If it's just the white that is gone and not the metal, Rustoleum will restore it. Typically, the concrete is in there and bonded to it. It's not coming off without losing the deck. Scott

I prefer the tumbled rough look. If your kids get out of the pool by the belly drag method, swimming to the coping and doing a push up and over to climb out instead of using the steps they'll scrape their stomach. I doubt it will draw blood, but could leave some slightly rawish skin. If you gave your builder the OK to proceed and now want to change to smooth, I'm CERTAIN it'll come at the extra price of remove and replace. See ya, Kelly

twittke I just completed this process. I am not a mason, however a mason who has done plenty of this type of bullnose paver (on fiberglass) coping installed it. A footer of morter/concrete was poured under the "lip" and extended out approx. another 6 inches. This makes a 6" area of attachement for the bullnose paver...the rest of the paver rests on top of the fiberglass and is solid...is going nowhere. This would allow the fiberglass to do what it is made to do in case it must....[FLEX]. We then had concrete poured up to the bullnose pavers. We are very happy and it gave the look we were going for, since I also did not want to see the molded pool coping. We just recently finished...well almost...yet to do landscaping.
