Easiest blog for technologically inept old lady
Comments (9)Marti, if I were to share the blog here it would be also sharing my full name, town, phone no....just a little weird for me even though the (very few, I think) people who do read it also have access to that info. But since the blog is tied into our small town local newspaper, it has a limited audience. KYIM? Anyway, you're not missing too much. This forum has more valuable info than my blog does! :)...See MoreCan southern 'mature' ladies do silk curtains?
Comments (106)Fauxchick if you put glue on those fabulous drapes I'll fly down and shoot you myself LOL Having them adjusted profesionally will be quite inexpensive...you're taking the right route there :) Or you could mail them to me and I'll do them...mind you, I may have to hang them for a few years to get the wrinkles out...but when I'm done with them, you can have them right back :oP heh heh I too love this thread...I don't get to play with silk as much as I used to (I used to make quilts that were donated to charities asking my employer for money...in a busy bank, with lenders all around me, you'd see my corner office...Fancy desk, lots of file cabinets, very banker like...but wth? There's a babylock on the table in the corner and several piles of silk on the desk :) I loved being able to sew at work LOL I just pulled baby out of the closet and she's looking at me with great longing...maybe I'll make a drape today...she needs me :) (Unfortunately so does my 3 year old and he's not much help with the fabic!!!)...See MoreHigh School Class Reunion of a 60 Plus Year Old Lady
Comments (8)Good timing. We just got home from Harry's 61st reunion and those 79-year olds looked pretty darned good. And had a great time! Now I'm looking forward to my 50th next year in Indiana. We always have the best time and don't care that much that the guys have no hair and we don't weigh 105 anymore. We're just glad to see one another....See MoreUpdate my old lady look to COOL..
Comments (19)Thank you Marti8a. I recovered the sofas and removed the ruffled skirt and added bun feet. I do not have a before pic. of sofa but it was very country and 80's sea foam green and pink and coordinated with the flowered drapes and cornice. The space is small for today's standards and the newer sofas were so big. I would love to put hardwood in here also. We put it in the kitchen and FR. Here is another before and after pic. Alerit, I agree with patricia43 about classic good bones. Yes I love some of the newer DR sets out there and would love a new set but I think Queen Anne is easy to work with. I think recovering the seats would make a big difference. I would love to replace my armchairs on the end with an upholstered parsons chair. These were the old drapes I had made to match old sofa sorry I don't have a pic of old sofa....See More4Heidesign
