Dave - looking back at my original post, I really didn't explain it properly. The Gilmour sprayer is the hose-end type that mixes it as you go. No dilution is needed provided the concentrate is the same viscosity as water. You pour in the concentrate, attach to the hose and set the dilution rate on the sprayer. The sprayer mixes the stuff for you. What I did was forget to dilute the concentrate so it flowed properly. The Daconil, being much thicker than water, didn't get picked up by the sprayer as well as it should (if at all). It's a known situation and, in fact, the instructions specifically mention thicker than water concentrates and how to do it properly. I just forgot that part. You'd better believe I won't forget that little bit of information again. Guess I'll wash what little stuff that got on the plants off and start again from the beginning. You guys are All AWESOME!! I am gonna make that list tonight. (dh has been bugging me to make a list) I stepped up the door painting today. I was able to work on 3 doors today. I was doing like 1 door at a time and there is a lot of waiting time between steps so it was taking forever. Doing 3 today I feel good about it! Sarschlos .. I'm using water based primer Kilz latex 123. I've already re hung several of the doors already and so far so good. Those doors were left out and about after they were painted for a good week before I put them back up there. I might be biting off more than I can chew. I *want* to paint the living room and entry but not sure I can get to it. If I can get some extra money .. then maybe I can hire someone to come in and do the painting of those rooms. I'm wierd.. I like to prep my own walls and paint so it will be the way I like it (roll eyes) I have a very good handyman I use though and he does drywall work to perfection. He is $20 an hour - which isn't bad at all. But with Christmas coming up .. any extra money needs to go for presents and stuff, so that is why I was just going to paint myself. See .. it's a circular argument LOL Okay.. well I will make a daily list for the cabinets and make it so that IF the cabinets are done then I can start on the living room laxsupermom: I know what you mean about indecisiveness. There was a house for sale across the street from me in 2008. It was one of those project houses...needed a total gut job. A nice couple bought it as an investment house. They toiled all spring and summer fixing up the house. The did a fabulous job. New hardwood maple flooring, real plaster walls (instead of drywall--they wanted to stay true to the age of the house), fabulous wood trim. It was an extremely nice DIY renovation. The DIY couple, rented the house out in August to a 20 something couple that worked at a local university. All was good. The young couple fit in our neighborhood great and they seemed happy. Christmas 2008. The young couple goes away for 2 weeks to visit family. When they get home after New Year's they find the house completely flooded. The plaster walls and ceiling have fallen down. The lovely maple floors are in waves. All of their belongs are ruined. Mold is growing up the walls. They go around to the neighbors asking for help. Young couple has no real tools, or even a decent mop. The entire neighborhood pitches into to help them out. We give the young couple a place to stay. The landlords finally arrive...having to the longest 10 hour drive of their lives to get back and see the mess. Turns out a pipe burst in an upstairs bathroom because it was on an outside wall and wasn't insulated correctly. The house is deemed uninhabitable until repairs are made. The young couple finds a new place to live. The landlords start the fight with the insurance company. Their claim is denied. They get a lawyer and continue to fight. Eventually, the claim is accepted. The landlord couple spends the entire summer of 2009 doing what they just did a year ago. A new young couple moves in August 2009. But this year will be different because the landlords installed an automatic shut off leak detection valve. They told us it was pretty expensive but it sure beats doing the rehab yet again. Now, when we go away, we turn the water off at the main, open the faucets and flush the toilets. We have our heat on and have neighbors check on our cat daily. We don't drain anything, but at least if something bursts the water can't just continue to run. So far so good. I will never forget walking into the house across the street last winter. Seeing the plaster walls, insulation and everything from the 2nd floor on the 1st floor with mold growing up the walls was one of those visions I'll remember forever. I'd really like to get one of the automatic leak detector valves for my house too.

I bought those small timers on every hose bib. I have to dial in my allotted time and then it automatically turns off. They are pretty cheap. I had a computerized one that turned on my bird guzzlers automatically and turned them off but they were too much out of site, out of mind. I would like to get my vegetable garden automated more. I am thinking of installing a closed capsule system there.
