Can you help a novice locate a couple of trees
Comments (2)Both will take full sun well, but they will look better the hottest summer months with just a little protection from sun in the hottest part of the day. It will take a couple of years for the root system to get established, so until then, you might see some leaf burn. No big deal. As far as pruning, prune to shape like any other tree and do so mostly year around. Early summer seems to work well for maintenance pruning and you can pinch back any new chutes that are undesireable as they grow. You should see a great deal of vigor out of both trees in the years to come, so don't worry about pruning too much-the trees handle it very well. Like other plants, you will be redirecting growth, so think before you cut....See Morevery tiny light/dark brown/orange insects found on windowsills
Comments (7)It's impossible to count the number of legs without not squishing it first. Since these insects look like they are feeding on the wood of the windowsill, I can only assume they are some type of woodeater. I just saw one of them crawl out of a crack in the wood of the windowsill near where the windowsill itself and the metal frame of the window pane meet and crawled back in. I don't have a magnifying glass, but it appears to me that there are minute wood shillings leftover on the edge of the window pane metal frame near the crack in the wood of the windowsill. Is it a definite possibility that it is some kind of woodeater, but not a termite since termites are much bigger in size. These are no more than an 1/8th of an inch in length and are even slimmer in width. This last one I saw I figure to be about 1/16th of an inch, but this one looked more darker brown than the others....See MoreI found a great resource of FREE moving boxes
Comments (9)When I moved my books, many books, I used a trick I'd been taught years ago. Don't put them in boxes, just make a short stack of reasonable height and weight and tie it up with twine loose enough so you can get your fingers under the twine on the top. It's easy to just lift a stack by the twine when you're carrying other boxes. If they're going to be stored for a while, you can put the stack in a plastic bag before you tie it up. Comments (11)Thanks for the apple squares recipe. I've copied and saved it for the some-day-in-the-future when I can actually test it. I've been in oven withdrawl for the past month as my kitchen is being re-done. My current cooking appliances, microwave, hot-plate, toaster, kettle, and crock-pot, all share the same circuit, so I can only use one at a time. I can't help collecting cake recipes during the interval....See Morecathyyg
