Verona Pro is the unit we've been waiting to display all year. Once a certain part is shipped from the parts supplier to Verona at the Italian plant, the units will be ready to ship to America through Euro-Chef. The Verona Pro will have much higher BTUs with German-made brass burners. For a little over $3,000 I predict it will be the number one selling value-line 36" dual-fuel range. The rest of Verona items are simply re-branded Delonghi products. Since Delonghi is better known for small appliances (i.e. convection toaster ovens) the powers at be thought to use the Verona name instead. We haven't pulled the trigger on displaying an Ilve, but have sold a couple and our customers are very happy. No burner above 15K BTU however.

I warn you to seriously consider my account before purchasing any Ilve product. It took 9 months to reach a resolution with Ilve. Terrible customer support for a brand new range, and trust me it’s not just one customer service rep that caused this, it was everyone I worked with. Here is what happened: – Ilve Nostalgie 36inch range arrived in sub-optimal condition. Gas burners would rarely ignite or hold flame, only 1-2 burners would work at the same time with low BTU. – Began troubleshooting by calling Ilve Customer Support number, the Customer Support is contracted out to Superior Marketing who is their distributor in the US. – Customer Support began trying to locate a service technician in my area (top 10 metro in USA). For weeks, I would call in once per week to check the status of my case, Ilve rarely reached out to me with updates. – Customer Support could not locate a service provider in my area and asked me to find one myself. When reached, many service providers in my area said they would not service Ilve. – At this point, the customer care team began to hang up on me when I would call in to ask for help with locating a service technician. – I now had to call into the Sales team and begin working with them for support. – A service technician was finally scheduled and assessed my issue 3 ½ months after contacting Customer Support. – It took 8 weeks to deliver the parts the technician needed. – Technician re-assessed the range with new parts and concluded the range was not manufactured correctly and should be returned as it was irreparable. – From this point, it took 5 weeks of constant requests to begin the refund process. – After this, it took an additional 9 weeks for the refund to be processed and to get my money back. A product issue was seriously compounded by a failing customer care team. This market segment of home appliances is often called “attainable luxury” – you get the high end look while sacrificing the backend support. Please understand that your appliance may be optimal and working as it should when you purchase it. But buyer beware if you need customer support – that is when the buyers regret kicks in.

How much do you cook and bake? What kinds of things? Is the Christmas roast all you use your oven for? For a roast (or bread or ...) you'd be better off with a gas oven. For baking cookies then electric. Ideal is either one of each or a humidified (or combi) electric oven. Many people on here prefer open burners on top vs sealed so Bluestar and a couple of others are best. If you don't care what kind of burners then many of the others w/ sealed may serve you well. FWIW, we do a lot of cooking, baking and entertaining. Our new kitchen will be very similar to our current; 48" all gas Bluestar RNB range w/ 4 burners, 24" griddle and 2 gas ovens, Miele Masterchef electric oven, Miele combi steam XXL, GE Advantium fast bake microwave, and Miele warming drawer.

Just an FYI for those buying induction for the first time: you may need new cookware. I’ve only ever had induction once and everything took FOREVER to cook/boil when we first started using it. It was so frustrating I did a bunch of research and learned that induction only works well if your cookware has a perfectly flat bottom so the full pan bottom is in contact with the burner. Went to bed bath and beyond and started taking pans out of all the boxes and placing them on the floor to see if they fully made contact. It was surprising how few did! Finally bought the flattest bottomed pans I could find. Problem solved after that. Note this was in 2009-2010 so maybe newer models have resolved this issue. But I have no interested in trying again - gas for me all the way. Hated cleaning it (thought it would so easy but mine wasn’t) and even though I figured out the pan issue I always felt it wasn’t as good as gas.
