new pond 2008
Comments (3)Wow, that's a great pond! Or ponds. :D I love the long shot (pic 9 of 10) showing the bridge and the creek connecting both. Is that Mexican evening primrose along the sides? Very pretty! Would love to see more pics of the creek, too! Brenda...See Morequestion on pond building
Comments (5)I'm still pretty new to this...but here is what I've done and my thinking on it. Originally we did not plan for the "upper" pond. But when we were designing the stream we came up with the idea to prevent such a sharp turn into the "main" pond. Turns out I REALLY like it. It is shallow though & I won't be able to overwinter my fish there (I'll have to move them to the "main" pond). But I put 8 small goldfish in the "upper" pond & water hyacinth, etc. The way I see it (and so far it seems to be working perfectly)...It seems like an extension of my filtration system. From the bio-falls through a short stream to the small pond, through the plants, down another short stream to the main pond, then of course through my skimmer and back to the bio-falls. My water is staying clear and beautiful!...See Morehigh pressure washer won't run
Comments (11)Hmmm ok , Its hard to tell without looking at it personally but just to remove another other doubts... Have you changed the hose lately going to the pressure washer ? Is the water that is going to your machine hotter than usual. - I don;t know where you live but for me the first few minutes after turning on the water its really hot because its been solar heated and its pretty close to boiling hot. Is there any damage to the your garden hose which would cause it to suck in air along with water ? But it seems you have already looked at these problems so at this stage the damage seems to be done so I am listing potential reasons for the problem and not cures, sorry about that. Usually though ,when the whole pump has broke it will show a lot more symptoms. If you are having trouble removing that plastic nut try to use a socket set and not a spanner. The spanner will for use cause the side to get wore down. The "start/stop valve" could be the unloader valve which has a spring inside it to control the pressure.... maybe a surge of air has forced it into its current position where its now difficult to remove. However I should warn you that if it is the unloader valve that when resetting,it needs to be in the correct setting otherwise its never going to be at the right pressure. If it was me and I was trying to fix a big gas powered pressure washer I would stay away from it but since its a somewhat cheap electric one and to buy a new pump would almost cost the same as a new pressure washer I wouldn't mind having a play around with it in the hope it works fine again. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. The electric washers are so picky and if the slightest part isn't doing what its supposed to be doing well then the whole things breaks. Comments (12)Personally we prefer Sonos. We have experimented with HEOS (Denon's equivalent), Yamaha's MusicCast, Airplay in various licensed products and a few others. From an app standpoint, all pretty good with each having slight advantages and disadvantages when compared against each other. Some have a harder time syncing up their audio output when playing in multiple rooms, causing a slight echo effect when the different zones are close together. Sonos does this pretty well. Lutron has partnered with Sonos to offer up an audio "Pico" for local zone control, furthering its attractiveness. When paired with a Lutron Caseta lighting system for example, you can add a 3-way lighting circuit Pico and a Sonos audio Pico in a 2-gang Lutron Claro wall plate with NO wiring. Pretty slick! From a sound quality standpoint, we feel Sonos is the best so far. Adding to this the equivalent easy of use to the app and negligible if not non-existent multi-room echo effect we feel it is the best buy. Notice I say "so far" however as new offerings come out every day. For example, one product offering that could greatly effect our Sonos recommendation is the Apple HomePod. At $349 retail is it aimed directly at Sonos so we will see what happens when that comes out at the end of this year ....See MoreTechnospeak Corporation
