Strawberries are in season. Which do you prefer?
Comments (34)Changed my mind and gonna make Trisha Yearwood's skillet shortbread. My son loves it and it will be wonderful with the strawberries. I might though leave off the almonds. Skilllet shortbread Ingredients bunNonstick cooking spray 1 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons sugar 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, melted 2 large eggs 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon almond extract 1/2 cup sliced almonds with skins Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 10-inch cast-iron skillet with aluminum foil and spray the foil with cooking spray. In a large mixing bowl, stir 1 1/2 cups of the sugar into the melted butter. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Sift the flour and salt onto the batter. Add the flavoring and stir well. Pour the batter into the skillet. Top with sliced almonds and the remaining 2 tablespoons sugar. Bake until slightly brown on top, about 35 minutes. Cool the shortbread in the skillet. When cool, use the foil to lift the shortbread from the skillet; remove the foil before serving...See Morewhich do you prefer?
Comments (69)Homepro1, Salti and Dadoes, thanks for helping diagnose my problem! I wasn't even intending on investigating. I had asked the LG repair center about the drain hose a while back and they said it couldn't be the problem, that it's not made of rubber or something. The details are coming back now! I just assumed it was the rubber gasket and my own repair guy said that replacing it won't solve my problem that the machines are just designed that way. So I chalked it up to just eventually needing to replace it with a top load. But the video on the Washer Fan website and stmt by dadoes leads me to believe it isn't unique to front loads. So every three years, I'll just check on the drain hose and perhaps invest in a washer fan. Don't want to mess around with mold! And thank you I will make sure the drain pipe is vented. I wonder if that is why I didn't have a problem until moving into this house. Or it could just be that the mold is getting progressively worse as years go on ( now 5 years old). To clarify, this machine was moved from Chicago, to our rental home in CA to our permanent home in CA. I should've just left it in Chicago! Lol and sorry to OP for hijacking the thread. But hopefully you learned something from this :)...See MoreQuiz - Which do you prefer?

Comments (11)We just installed our third Hayward salt cell in June. Each of the previous cells lasted about five years before finally dying. My second cell died this past winter and I spent the spring battling green algae while waiting on a sale or rebate offer. It was a freaking nightmare of constant monitoring and testing. Right after installation I added several bags of salt to reach an appropriate level for cl production and haven't had to do a thing since except vacuum the pool. It is worth every penny to have a salt cell installed. Also, our pool is a 35K gallon vinyl liner and using a salt cell instead of liquid chlorine has kept the color of the vinyl from fading like it used to do using jugged chlorine. If you do go with the Hayward brand make sure to buy it at an authorized dealer as I read a lot of complaints on Amazon about them not honoring the warranty for ones sold through Amazon. My second cell came from Amazon but we luckily never had any problems with it. Hayward has been offering an $80 rebate on cells sold....See Morecpartist
