I have removed the pictures from photo-bucket. I got too many emails asking me way too many technical questions and inquiries from professionals who asked if they could use my designs. Also quite a few asked if they could buy some of the structures and have them sipped to America(Imagine the cost of having a 90 pounds arches shipped!!! Then I saw that some even used my pictures on their websites! Then someone complained that I was "Advertizing my products here on GW ... So I decided to take them down. I don´t mind ordinary rose-people getting inspiration about how they can create affordable metal structures, which was my intentions. But I did not like the accusations of soliciting products ... And Hey I live in Europe. Today I have a blacksmith do my designs, since I am busy making garden design plans for my clients. (ooops I did it again! ...soliciting my services and products. I bet I soon gets banned from GW.

Grass Guy, Man ... that question really challenged my memory! I have been trying to come up with the answer by looking at my garden pictures. Problem is my camera lost its 'date' function for the month of May. My records show that I made divisions of a sport that I have in trial in mid April and they were showing nice new shoots but nothing 'above ground'. I can say that all my panicums are just starting to show an inch or two of growth in early May and by mid June they are at least 2 feet tall. This first pic shows the height of the Panicums with respect to a few other grasses. Panicum Heavy Metal is along the high red fence and in the middle background is a Panicum Warrior and a row of Panicum 'Rehbraun' and in this pic you can see a Panicum 'Heavy Metal' close-up. Both pics were taken June 23 of this year.

I've had a few reports off the forum that Blood Brothers has indeed arrived in nurseries in Ontario anyway. That's a beginning! Steve, they are growing ruby ribbons & b. brother side by side (since last summer) & will have a better idea of how they compare by the end of this summer. Blue Spruce - re: available in the UK - they say that might be a possibility but it won't happen this year. Thanks to all for your kind comments! a.

Panciums for me are my best full sun and wet soil tolerants. I have done a entire bottom side of a hill with Panicum v. "Dallas Blues". The intensity of the purple blooms with the powder blue foliage comes in handy for that striking combo with perennials and shrubs. P.v. "Heavy Metal", and P.v. "Cloud Nine" prove to me and my trial gardens that they can stand wet feet, as well as the heat that comes around year at this time of the year. Miscnathus "Rotsilber" is really nice for the colors and sturdy root system. Molina caerula and its cousins are great for boggy and moor like conditions. Many varieties include "Heidebraut", "Moorhexe", and "Strahlenquelle" to name a few...
