Finally turned the corner on cyclamen mites?

I have done well over the years growing gesneriads - all but African violets. Despite intermittent spraying with a miticide (most recently Avid), the plants' centers eventually became contorted, furry and ultimately dead. No cultural changes affected these dismal results.

Then I resolved to make another attempt, this time rotating two miticides (Avid and Forbid) and spraying regularly every two weeks (more recently at monthly intervals). My new AVs (including a large number of seedlings just coming into flower) don't have show-quality perfect foliage, but the centers look good and the plants have vigor and the mature ones are repeat blooming. I plan to keep up monthly sprayings indefinitely, making sure to hit every fuzzy-leafed gesneriad I have (not just AVs), even if they don't show symptoms.

Has anyone else had to resort to such measures to eradicate a persistent cyclamen mite infection?
