Kaffir lime (Citrus hystrix) also known as kieffer lime, makrut, or magrood. Used in Thai and other Asian/ Indonesian cooking (leaves and fruit are used).

Those are berries of a Hypericum (St. John's Wort) plant. Hypericum berries

Thank you Tiffany. No, unfortunately it's not. It's been a significant loss actually. The story is (and yes, I know how difficult this is going to be to believe) but, my grandmother received this plant from one of the ladies at the local Church of Christ after she had my father back in 1945. It came in a wicker basket and was only 4" tall. It became a part of her little plant family and remained with her until 2000 when she gifted it to me. It survived three moves over the next 15 years and even thrived the last ten years of its life. Then due to a job opportunity I moved from TX to SC in the winter of 2015, wrapped up the entire plant with a specialty cold weather bubble barrier I purchased from Gardeners supply in hopes it would make the 48 hour trip on a national moving carrier semi truck. I honestly think it would have made it, however and unfortunately, a snow storm shifted more south than expected dumping a foot of snow. The movers ended up stuck in Atlanta waiting out the storm. When snow hits the south, world as we know it stops existing. Ha ha. It took seven days for that truck to arrive at my new home in Greenville, SC. Needless to say, our precious family heirloom of a plant, had thrown her last fit. Ha ha. It was black from the cold, but I wasn't convinced it couldn't be salvaged somehow. So I contacted the local agricultural commission who referred me to a gardening/botany service company that came to my home and investigated the damage. Everything 2" and up from the base of the soil was soft from the freeze and declared dead. They said the only hope I have is to cut it back to that 2" mark and wait until the spring to see if it comes back. I gave them the pruning shears and the cut was made. Spring turned into summer and then summer into early fall and nothing. Finally, I did as they suggested and took a sharp knife and cut a thin sliver off of the "bark" to see if it was still green. It was not. It was definitely not coming back. That was 8 months ago and ever since I've been on the lookout for another plant just like it. I should have asked the botanist that initially came out the name of the plant, but I didn't think of it and the company doesn't have record on the service call order. So I've been showing pictures to various garden centers, neighbors and friends in the area with no success. No one has ever seen one like it and certainly don't have one to sell me. So in my grief my hunt continues. It's good therapy! Ha ha. The story is sad for our family, but not a sole blames me for my decision to move. My parents tell me that if my grandmother were still with us, she would say no plant should weigh a person down like that anyway. The loss is more mine than anything. But it's OK; I trust that one day I'll stumble upon one just like it and give it a happy home and then find a way to weigh my own children down with the burden of its care. Ha ha. So there you have the story of the 70 year old family heirloom. Thank you once again Tiffany for your help in naming the plant. That alone is a huge gift. At least now I can start looking outside of my four walls here to replace it.
