Roses that smell good at night?

Most fragrant roses smell their best in late morning or early afternoon. Few are that fragrant at night. My most fragrant rose at night is Felicia. I often sniff this rose when I water at night. New Zealand and firefighter are also fragrant at night, even though they are at their best in day time. Papa Meilland is sometimes fragrant at night.

Beautiful. Your roses are amazing. Most of my roses are only lightly fragrant, which is my preference. I like leaving bouquets in the bathroom, because that is where I smell them the best.

Jess, are you looking for a short climber that would share the same support, or are you going to grow Night Owl free-standing? That clear pink would be wonderful with Night Owl. Down here in the heat Night Owl is deep purple in spring & fall, and various shades of fuschia/deep pink/rose in the heat. What about the hybrid musk Bubble Bath? Better be a BIG trellis...! Or put the bush form of Cecile Brunner at Night Owl's feet..?

I will forever love Louise Odier. She is the rose that got me started in my rose obsession! Her fragrance is intoxicating, her shape is just beautiful. Check out this website below. I was given a cutting of E. oxypetalum a couple of years ago but my plant has yet to bloom for me so I'm a little envious of you guys. I grew both Cryptocereus anthonyanus and Epiphyllum anguliger until one fall I didn't get them back in the greenhouse soon enough:(. These two used to start setting buds the end of september outside where they lived from spring through summer and into fall, they bloomed though out the fall and into winter in the greenhouse, their scent to me was reminiscent of hawthorn flowers. Does anyone know where I can buy either of these two or both, I've been looking but so far no luck. Annette

I drove down to the Farm Center today to buy this rose, but they had already closed (darned Daylight Savings time messes with my sense of time). Anyway, I got out and looked through all the roses. They got more in stock. There are three Night Owls left. And then I spotted another rose two pallets over. WOw! It was the most beautiful red I had ever seen! The rose is a large shrub rose called "Hot Cocoa". Oh boy! I am going back tomorrow. If the roses aren't too much, I hope to get two of them and one of the purple Night Owl. If they are too much, I will have to decide. Can a person be FICKLE with a rose??? :) ~Annie

Those are my very common, but lovely Iceberg roses. They have a good fragrance once my bathroom is filled with steam from the shower. That surprised me at first, because I didn't think they had much of a scent.

I looked up Felicia on HMF, because of your post. It gets quite large!
