How to Dispose Star of Bethlehem?

I dug 3 large trash bins full of Star of Bethlehem. I have a lot more of them. How should I dispose them other than throwing them away? There is soil with the weeds and I have no incentives to dump them.

I could build a hot compost pile, with my other browns. But only part of the compost pile would compost and some certainly would not be composted. I do not want to spread the weed problem.

Put the weeds on driveway to bake them?

Put them in the trash. Too risky to try to compost them because part of the bulb may survive.

If you want to save your soil, put them in a container of water. After a bit, swish it around. Some of the dirt will fall off, and you can keep going till you're happy with the amount of dirt you got. Throw away the plant and roots, and use the water for some of your plants. The dirt/mud will fall right back into your yard.

i just ripped out a wheelbarrel full today myself. It's a good feeling to get them dug out, isn't it? I did about 6 small wheelbarrow loads today. I'm lucky in that I can just dump them in the field, and spread them around a bit, as the field is green with them. Thanks, I will check with Weeds. Edward - Lambertson told me AMM grows very well in Canada, so it should do well for you. Ed - You are so right about Helix and Rudebeckia. Too bad they're on the opposite sides of the yard right now. I've been thinking about moving Helix beside my red barn so it would be planted in between Free Wheelin and two black-eyed Susans. Michelle - Frank's Star would fit right in your garden. We finally broke down and got some glyphosate this spring, and the Star of Bethlehem just laughed through both applications. Repeated cutting back of the foliage doesn't seem to slow them down, which defies all logic (eventually the bulb has to starve, right?) When digging, it is important to try to get ~all~ the little bulblets in that clump, which is very difficult to do. Honestly, I wouldn't mind these little spring flowers at all if they weren't so intent upon world domination.

Perhaps it would be best to dump it all and then replace the soil?

Yes, I hear you all. It is just that this is a huge bunch of organic stuff. I can probably dig 3 more large trash bins of the same stuff.

Put them in sealed black plastic trash bags in the sun ... solarize them.

Although this week along the mid-Atlantic coast might not be the best time for that.
