Any downsides to 1/2" thick tile made to resemble hand cut?

This is really for a bathroom shower floor and walls, but I think this is a more active group so I am going to cross post here.

I found an incredible deal on some closeout, Italian, 4" square tiles that are made to resemble the thick hand-cut tiles. They are porcelain with a wear grade of IV. The way they are cut, the bottom edges flare out just a teeny bit more than the top. The salesperson told me this is to eliminate the need for spacers. Obviously, I'd have a thicker grout line with this type of tile than others where I'd have a choice as to how far apart to set the tiles.

Are there any things I might not be aware of about tile of this type that might steer me away from using them?

Thanks much.
