Good Movies, a little obscure, from our teatime matinees
Comments (8)I'm going to the movie theater today at 1:30pm to see the new movie, "The Eagle". It's based on Rosemary Sutcliff's series of historical novels "The Eagle of the Ninth" set in ancient Roman Britain, written in the 60's 70's?. I read the books, not expecting the movie to do them justice but curious. Hoping they don't do a "300" imitation, but expect some violence and gore for the teen set....See MoreSaw a Good Movie
Comments (14)Not a Sci-Fi person but we just got back from seeing "Footloose". I really liked it, they kept true to the original story line and I enjoyed all the people they chose as characters. The guy who played Willard (Ren's friend) looks so much like some other actor (who could have been his father) but when the credits ran, his last name was Teller. Can't tell you who he reminds me of - I thought maybe the guy who played in Must Love Dogs and Serendipity. John C someone. Anyway Julianne Hough was really good - she looked like a young Jennifer Anniston. Her parents were played by Randy Quaid (or was it Dennis) and Andi McDowell. Loved the music as before. I will be humming it for the next few days!...See MoreNetflixers--streamed any good movies lately?
Comments (36)We've watched two of the four segments of Midsomer Murders, Set 22. (On a DVD from our library.) We must be getting close to having seen 100 of these mysteries. We have one more segment of The Paradise to watch. (Recorded on DVR from PBS.) I hear there is to be another season of this adaptation of an Emile Zola story....See MoreI saw a good movie
Comments (2)I thought it was pretty good, I didn't read the book. I'd recommend it!...See Moresocks
